shyguyblue,

I remember when the Nintendo color was orange. I may just be thinking of the light gun that came with it…

shyguyblue,

I’ll throw in Oxygen Not Included.

shyguyblue,

Fair, don’t even try playing on anything but normal speed :/

shyguyblue,

I’m imagining an LA noir style section involving the lasso of truth (?). And i haven’t seen the movies, but watched reviews, and there seems there might need enough upgrade paths to ramp up the combat elements. Maybe she gets with Batman to upgrade her suit?

Hell, even a tomb raider style origin story might work, if they don’t skimp on the writing team.

Original Final Fantasy programmer reappears after years of silence, casually says writing his legendary code "was pretty simple" and it could even be better (www.gamesradar.com) angielski

Iranian-American programmer Nasir Gebelli was instrumental in the evolution of video games and notably programmed the first three Final Fantasy games himself, consequently earning the adoration of Doom Guy John Romero, who previously called Gebelli his “programming god, my idol.” After spending years out of the public eye,...

shyguyblue,

Imagine, a time when a full game studio was a dozen guys/gals in a cramped windowless room. Wish we could go back…

shyguyblue,

Yup. I can sit next to a fellow programmer for hours in a pit, but you put me next to some Account Service jackass who’s on the phone all day and I’ll snap!

shyguyblue,

When I beat Grim Fandango.

It was bitter-sweet, because you ::: spoiler have to leave one of your companions behind, him being a spirit of the land; while you ride off to the land of eternal rest with your new love interest spoiler :::

shyguyblue,

I remember the levels being copy/paste rooms, but things like bathrooms and break rooms were absent. It didn’t really feel like a real world people live in.

Day 148 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I’ve been playing until I forget to post Screenshots (lemmy.world) angielski

Today’s game is Oxygen Not Included. Every once and a while i’ll hop into this game and just build a colony. Usually they go to shit real fast though. This one i decided to try scheduling my duplicates, so i have them split between night shifts and day shifts equally....

shyguyblue,

Currently sitting at 3,185.6 hours in this game.

My current map is over 1,600 cycles old, and I’ve only lost two permanently (some dupes are just too stupid to waste a reload on).

Once you get s self powered oxygen machine (SPOM) going, the biggest concerns are heat and food.

shyguyblue,

I always leave at least one free space so i can install a fire pole later. I’m going to do this on my next play through, and use the other side for pneumatic tubes!

"If knowledge is power; then to be unknown, is to be unconquerable.

Intro movie when you select the Romulans in Star Trek: Birth of the Federation

shyguyblue,

“I’ll give you something to cry about!”

Therapy helps, but not enough for me to continue the cycle.

shyguyblue,

Oxygen Not Included. Base building, but with stupid “clones” instead of competent people. Can’t tell you how many times these idiots have built out dug themselves into suffocating… 10/10 would recommend, unless you’re predisposed to heart problems…

shyguyblue,

Factorio runs pretty well on my old laptop, but the bigger your setup gets, the more CPU cycles it takes. YMMV.

shyguyblue,

Five ad breaks and they don’t show the actual reference…

shyguyblue, (edited )

I’ve put in over 2,700 hours into Oxygen Not Included, so that’s my vote.

Edit: Oh dip, I just looked it up and I’m slightly over 2,800 now :/

shyguyblue,

I tell people it’s the funnest game you’ll ever hate. It’s cathartic as hell when everything is running smoothly, but it just takes one little bump to throw everything off.

shyguyblue,

Longest I’ve ever gotten was 1114 cycles, and I haven’t won yet either. You don’t win, you just do better each time…

Good gaming experiences with no HUD? angielski

I’m starting to find that HUDs in games clutter the screen and take away from being fully immersed in the game. I like games that force you to pay attention to what’s going on in the game and not numbers/markers on the edges of the display. What are some of your favorite games to play with no HUD? Here are a few of mine:...

shyguyblue,

An oldie but goldie: Grim Fandango

You drive your character like a tank, up moves him forward from his perspective, though there might be a setting to change that, it’s been years.

When you walk around the environment, Manny will turn his head to look at interactive objects, then you have “interact”, “examine”, or “pickup”.

The inventory screen is a close up of his jacket, where he reaches in a pulls something out. Hit the “next item” keyboard shortcut and he puts that object back into his jacket, and pulls out the next item.

Example of inventory screen: static.wikia.nocookie.net/…/MarkedCard.jpg

shyguyblue,

Switch: Sudoku Relax (2-7), Kingdoms of Amalur, Minecraft, The Survivalists

PC: Fallout 4, Oxygen Not Included, Factorio

shyguyblue,

I want a mod that makes it a little easier to get to the logistics robots faster, but without a complete overhaul, the extensive mods are too much for me…m
