One I haven’t seen mentioned (at a glance at least) is Noita.

Getting the “false ending” is achievable with some effort, but I dare you to actually finish the game. And as far as replayability, you’ll be hard pressed to have two runs that go the same. The amount of Butterfly Effect in this game from all the combinations and systems is straight up insane.

I really can’t recommend it enough.

First one coming to mind for me is Pillar Hop. Very simple, chill, and just had ads iirc (I block them, but I’m pretty sure it does, anyway.)

Honestly, agreed. I trust Kitfox enough that I highly doubt it’s shovelware, but the art direction does kind of point that direction.

That said, it looks really interesting. Can’t wait to check it out once it releases!

I have friends that play this game basically all day every day. Doesn’t seem like vaporware to me.

Empty promises maybe, but it would be disingenuous to deny it’s perfectly playable in its current state.

On the bright side though, they are consistently updating the game. I don’t play, but several of my friends play it all the time, and to them it definitely seems to be worth what they paid.

Not like people are paying for the release date. And they did release a product, just not under “version 1.0”.

Seems like people are just mad that a game they don’t like made money.

Last I played - forever ago - I was just disappointed that the random NPCs were nothing but decoration. Made the whole setting feel flat to me, sadly.
