Yep. This is the correct answer but that’s not what this thread is about; it’s a nostalgic circle jerk mixed with a sprinkling of “back in my day”.
Don’t get me wrong here, I like the suggestions in this thread but literally one of the suggestions being upvoted is how the game is planned to handle servers (quick join is random and then there will be a list of community servers).
I’m fine with the official servers being random join, as long as I can pick and choose a community server. Which to state again, is apparently planned.
I’m still waiting for reviews on release to make sure they hold true to their marketing though. Can’t trust shit from large studios.
I have my sound muted but still heard that PS1 logo sound so loud in my head I had the urge to turn the volume down on the old twist-knob tv I used to play on.
Unironically, COD getting delisted would probably get mainstream media coverage and legitimate outrage from people who “don’t play video games” but actually do.
I still hold Call to Power as the best “Civilisation” game. I started playing the actual Civilisation games from Civ3 onwards and was pretty consistently disappointed because most of the ‘new and exciting features’ had already been in CtP and were often DLC in Civ. Kind of wish a modern CtP would get released.
One of the biggest controversies at the start of all of this was Ubisoft pulling The Crew whilst pushing people to buy The Crew 2. Frankly it’s amazing we haven’t seen that more often with the near identical sequels such as the Madden, FIFA, F1 etc games.
No one’s forcing you to buy a remaster… unless they are because they revoke your right to play the original so it’s your only option.
Remasters and remakes will still happen but companies won’t have as much freedom to yoink a purchased product from your pocket years down the track in the name of some profit strategy.
Alternatively, when the console control scheme is tight and well made but the PC controls are ASDF + whatever random keys spread at opposite ends of the keyboard.
Spacebar looks to be exactly what I’ve been looking for! Unfortunately, according to their FAQ the voice and video features aren’t implemented yet but here’s hoping that someone comes on-board to help set it up 🤞definitely an easy decision for a self hosted Discord alternative if that comes to fruition!
Honestly, at this point, there might be enough of us volunteering to bounce that fucker back to Jupiter. A lot of us will be turned into jam but I think it’s worth the sacrifice.
Funny enough some of the most recent reviews have been somewhat positive because of the amount of progress that they have made on the development of the game. If the game were allowed to be developed to full completion, it might be a well received game (Despite the price). Instead they’ve canned it, which is just a disgusting show of business over customers as well as being disappointing for a KSP fan.
