Woke means being aware that an interaction with a cop is a life or death situation. Cops aren’t your friends, they’re not here to protect you. They’re a threat, motivated by cruelty and love of power. When dealing with a cop, you have to speak gently, keep your hands visible at all times, and declare your intentions for every action. Or you could die. You could still die even if you do all that.

This is understandable if someone has a strong gender identity. Most people don’t have much of a gender so it’s less important to them.

That’s why drag personally believes all RPGs with character customisation should have gender selection unless there’s a very good reason why not. The one good exception drag has seen is Pentiment - in that game you’re a mediaeval writer who hangs out with the monks at the Abbey. That story can’t be authentic with a woman player character. But that’s a very rare situation. Even games with named main characters can have gender select. Look at Prey and Mass Effect. It’s an accessibility feature.

Longtime buddy of mine just got a gaming PC. What games would make up a good "welcome to PC" care package?

The issue is that I think there are Steam bundles that can’t be gifted, such as the Valve pack and that kind of thing. That also makes something like Civ 6 less likely, just because of the DLC bundles. I can also use Fanatical or Humble but frankly the region thing might be an issue....

If we’re having a capitalist market, it had better be a free market, which is to say one with sufficient consumer protections so that customers can make free choices about who to give their money to for a certain product.

If Aldi only sells apples and Walmart only sells pears, that’s not a free market. That’s two monopolies. Drag doesn’t get a choice who to buy apples OR pears from.

If Aldi starts selling pears too, that’s not a monopoly. That’s customer choice. Drag can choose to shop at Aldi because of their lower prices and better customer service. Drag can vote with drag’s wallet. If Walmart has a deal with the pear farmer not to sell pears to Aldi, that IS a monopoly.

Drag doesn’t want to give any money to Epic. Put the game on GOG, put it on Itch, hell, put it on Origin! That would be great for consumers! A monopoly isn’t.

Drag picked up Helldivers recently, which uses a KLA. Drag’s had no problems with it. But drag’s dragon also downloaded it, and it completely borked its computer. The voltage regulator chip for the CPU failed, and its computer started crashing on completely different games, even after uninstalling Helldivers.

Drag uses person-independent pronouns, which are conjugated and inflected the same way in all grammatical persons. When drag uses drag’s pronouns, they’re first person. And to answer your question, drag has a pet dragon. We’re engaged to be married. It’s @HonouraryDragon

Thanks. A lot of people lived through the “singular they” controversy, where conjugation was a big issue, yet they never fully understood the conclusion that conjugation in English depends on the pronoun, not on the inflection. Latin has different rules, of course, but we’re not speaking Latin. A lot of people are still upset about that fact after all these centuries. They’re usually the kind of people who think the Romans were the good guys, and the Goths who spoke a precursor to English were evil. Fun fact: Adolf Hitler hated Gothic script. He called it “Jewish letters”. It’s funny how Germany changed sides over the whole issue. One minute Germany is sacking Rome, and the next they’re the home of the Holy Roman Empire. The whole “Third Reich” thing was an attempt at claiming a lineage descended from Rome. And of course England and the US spent a long time establishing themselves as the inheritors of Rome too. That’s probably why there’s so many old people who want English to be Latin.

Nothing more disappointing to me than seeing a game I might enjoy… and then it’s only available on PC on Epic Games store. Why can’t it be available on Epic, Xbox game store and Steam? It’s so annoying, like you have no choice but to use Epic… which I would literally do ANYTHING not to use.

Drag can think of one counterexample: Warframe. But Warframe is also 100% free to play and free to participate in every content update and event. And Warframe is developed by an indie team from Fake London who started the game with 120 employees.

Drag finished BOTW and now likes riding around Hyrule on a motorbike looking for koroks. Drag thinks the game is great if you use it as something to pick up and play a little bit of every now and then. Good game for bringing on airplanes and playing on the bus. Drag would have very much liked to have a game like that when drag was a child being dragged to boring dentist appointments and waiting to be picked up from school. Drag thinks maybe Nintendo is making games for children.

Warframe is much more fun with friends. Friends will tell you that you don’t have to bother with all the currencies. You can just do the story missions.

Oh, good news for you. They just released an update two days ago that separates the quests in the codex into story, side, and warframe quests. DE listened to player feedback and fixed the problem. Now you go to the codex terminal, you click on story quests, and it tells you what to do next.
