I watched a YT video about this and they said the guy was paid 10K (way too low imo), a Google search shows different numbers everywhere so it’s hard to confirm. But at least the guy got paid, for sure.
As far as I’m understanding it, the game was using a single threading process to load every single items in the game one by one (over 10 thousands in total), then checking again for duplicate.
Are you saying the INSANE GTA Online load time is fixed now?
Back in the old day, I literally just throw my hands up and said “I can’t wait for this shit anymore, I don’t have all day” then rage quit and delete the game.
For more immersion, you might wanna try VR. And if looks is what you’re after then PCVR for specific, although there are some impressive contents on mobile VR too.
We need to support and embrace this kind of games and studios more. They put so much love and effort into the game. But in the end, this game will probably profit as much as what Fortnite make in a couple months.
It’s always sadden me to know that even something as successful as Elden Ring, which sold 20 millions copies and made 1.2 Billion dollars, is nothing compared to what microtransactions make in games like CoD (2 Billion dollars per year) or Fortnite (over 5 Billion dollars per year).
And people complain why they “don’t make good games anymore”.
