CS GO (now CS 2) has constantly been on the top 5 most played steam games globally for a decade now, so yeah, I think people are still playing this game.

Affinity Photo is $60 once and you own it forever, with free updates. It's pretty much the only actually good Photoshop replacement.

Virkkunen,
@Virkkunen@kbin.social avatar

Yes. CS2 has added legs to your firsrt person view model, so when you look down, you see the your character's body instead of nothing.

I find it a welcome addition.

It wasn't to avoid epic, it's because there's no crack for the game yet and the only way to pirate it is to play on a switch emulator.

I think they're aiming for people being split between updating the game and not having their mods working, or not updating the game and playing their mods.

It's just click and rage bait, this whole thing has been worded to seem like CDPR is disallowing mods forever and people are upset with it.

Ownership is not why Stadia failed.

These people are rebuilding the game from "scratch" in Skyrim's Creation Engine version, but it's still nothing more than a version with updated graphics and lightning. Bethesda's probably going to be using FO4 or Starfield's CE version, which will have the same result albeit shinier.

But they are, and they all have drift problems.

The quick, easy and convenient solution is moving to Hall effect sticks.

Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag can’t be bought on Steam due to a “technical issue”, not an incoming remake, Ubisoft insists (www.rockpapershotgun.com) angielski

Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag’s unexpected disappearance from the Steam store is down to nothing more exciting than a tech bug - and definitely isn’t a sign of an upcoming remake for the pirate entry in the stealth-action franchise.

They didn't remake the game so they could port it to PC, they did it so they could sell more banking on the triple dippers

"A little jarring" is being very generous. For me, Skyrim's map is one of the worst maps I've ever had the displeasure of using. Skyrim is a grey game with grey landscape, and the map really emphasizes how grey everything is: grey land with grey icons on top and grey clouds covering most of the landscape (such a great idea). I don't mind that the map is 3D, but the camera angle limits is what pisses me off, they seem to choose the worst possible angles to showcase the map. There are no road markings whatsoever, and the LOD is so low that you can barely make out any feature on the map (considering you're lucky to find a patch in the map that isn't covered by the grey clouds).

I know that Fallout's maps are bad as well, you can barely see shit in them except for the markers, but at least it's in theme with the game, so it gets a pass. Starfield's is in theme and is pretty much like the Fallout maps, but the fact that there's literally no other features make it terrible as well, but I much rather have a completely blue screen with some markers spread around than trying to navigate Skyrim's map.

Oblivion's where it's at. They should have expanded on what they did there: simple 2D maps that are in theme with the game, clearly depicting main roads and some minor paths and simple depictions of the main cities' walls.

Exactly, people forget that most of the well known engines today are as old or older than Creation Engine, they're all patched/upgraded as it fits, though Creation Engine has no apparent version numbers and it's made by Bethesda so you get free internet points and a feeling of superiority for hating on the popular thing.

If you took these folks opinions as truth you'd think Bethesda games are massive flops that barely sell 10 copies and are a study case on how not to develop a game, but the real world is very different from the echo chamber...

I've had not a single crash so far and most of my frame dipping issues (from 60 to 40) were solved by lowering the shadows to medium. The only bugs I had were ships spawning in other ships so they spaz out, but that's very rare. On the other hand, Baldurs Gate 3 would constantly drop to 10 FPS and I had severe bugs that locked me out of entire questlines.

But I guess I'm not allowed to enjoy games and have fun because gamebryo = bad

Virkkunen,
@Virkkunen@kbin.social avatar

Gamers will never be mature or have realistic expectations. They cannot fathom that people are enjoying a thing they don't like, and they're very vocal about it, it's petty, really.

I try to move myself off of these discussions but there's always one comment that drags me down the well because it's so blatantly untrue, but it's miserable. Lemmy, kbin and Reddit are overly negative places where it seems the goal is to get everyone mad with terrible takes.

People need to remember that opinions aren't factsz and learn to shut the fuck up and let people enjoy things.

That's the engine in which Creation Engine was based on, so what? Saying that name won't somehow invalidate everything that was developed using the two engines or accomplish anything really. By your logic, we should call Source 2 engine the Quake engine

Ony 3080 with a 5900x I'm constantly getting 60fps at 1080p (unfortunately for now that's the only screen I have), meanwhile BG3 would dip to low 10s after a few minutes of playing every time

EDIT: I would also like to add that I didn't use DLSS or FSR in both games, since my hardware is more than capable of running both on maximum quality at 60fps 1080p.

This seems to be an Intel issue rather than a Bethesda one

Do game journalists even rate things less than a 90 anyways?

Bards are Baldur's Gate 3's best class and I can't imagine playing it as anything else (www.pcgamer.com)

I was planning on paying a rogue, paladin, or warlock (based on my tabletop characters), but this article nearly has me convinced. I am waiting for the PS5 release, so any agreement or dissension from my PC friends? Other class recommendations?...

Virkkunen,
@Virkkunen@kbin.social avatar

The sheer number of high level enemies and bosses I've killed as a Warlock with one hit of my Eldritch Blast charged with Repelling Blast that throws them down a pit begs to differ. There's no ukulele strumming or bongos banging that'll top the fun and laughs I have every time I see an enemy relatively close to a big fall.

Other than that, the game is VERY generous with healing items and options all around. There's so many dialogue options which gave me DC 5 or less to pass, along with many inspiration sources that you'll barely need Bard's "essential" skills.

Virkkunen,
@Virkkunen@kbin.social avatar

I don't know how much Larian has changed BG3 from the classical tabletop, but it feels like everything is the same. To be fair, just pick the class and race you most like and play it, ignore all the minmaxing gatekeepers and articles like this, just have your own fun and come to your own conclusions.

How is it for role-playing? I think that was my favorite part with the character I had.

I have about 30 hours and I haven't even left the first area, but from what I've seen, you never go long without a dialogue choice with a skill/race/class check. The charisma and wisdom based checks are constant, so my Warlock is always useful no matter what.

Virkkunen,
@Virkkunen@kbin.social avatar

That still comes as a surprise to me because Eldritch Blast feels like it hits anything anywhere in the game.

Virkkunen,
@Virkkunen@kbin.social avatar

I've googled and couldn't find this anywhere, and this user's comments are quite in line with what they've posted now, so I'd go for stupidity and gatekeeping over copypastaing
