Chiming in as a parent. My kids are MOST social when playing video games. They hop online with their friends and they chat and laugh and bullshit with each other.
The case against video games was created by people who think staring at the TV until they fall asleep is a good night.
Elden Ring for me. The kids have all played the shit out of it and killed literally everything in the game. I hopped on for about two hours, wandered around aimlessly, died a few times, avoided everything to prevent dying, died a few more times and decided I never needed to do that again.
Wrong kind of handicap. You are absolutely right in everything you said above, but it seems OP was referring to PvP games where one player has the option to have more health or do more damage than their opponent. It’s intended to even the playing field when ones pair is more skilled than the other.
We played a few rounds of Jackbox last night with my mom and brother. My daughter and I got in a little Super Mario World this afternoon and we played a round of Pokemon TCG. I kicked her ass pretty bad. She wasn’t really happy about that. Even though we’re both just learning, I have decades of Magic and Hearthstone under my belt. 😂 She’ll get me eventually!
