Tell me what console or system or even game manufacturer that lets you buy their game, download it to a portable micro SD and then lets you play it from there.
Not even steam lets you do that and you don’t even have a direct way of knowing what’s on the micro SD card without making a label for it which good luck.
No steam is definitely not the bastion to use as they really aren’t gonna work. They like games tied to accounts.
You could say GOG games but it really still defeats the point of it not being even close to similar to a physical game you could resell and having a nicely labeled piece of physical media.
I know you aren’t the person originally with the really bad argument btw, but yeah the list is super small this would work for.
Have you been spending hours trying to pass a level? Or maybe you are completely addicted to a newly bought game. Do you have a question about a game or would like to share something else? In the Weekly Discussion Thread, you can do it all!...
Man, I just don’t get that from vampire survivors. I loved Binding of Isaac and can’t stand vampire survivor or brotato as the endless waves just seem… Boring and then the builds seem obvious and usually pretty easy to force.
Well you need to grind a bit to unlock stuff and get the gold but you can get the option to reroll and then lancet and laurel are the main things to being practically unkillable with enough leveling.
But for early level seriously just upgrade whip and get the heart. You now heal and do near constant damage. And then get garlic and just work on maxing out any item one at a time. And you will keep going until the waves become bullshit. Keep doing until you literally grind ypur way to buying your way into the end game.
It’s a chore to do that requires little direct thought or input in a complex world full of too much to do? Seems like it scratches a similar itch to the cosy gamers accept with more fun to the audience that doesn’t like pulling weeds
These could be games that left a lasting impression on you, games that had stellar gameplay mechanics, characters that captivated you, games that you played tons of hours on, etc.
Spyro. Hard stop. Beat over 100% several times. Loved the platform mechanics, the visuals, the humor, and the sense of wonder. Lovely games that basically scratches that itch of a mobile collecting game but with a story to follow and purpose for doing it.
The Halo franchise is also up there but i actually was just one of the people that just built maps in forge for custom game modes and think that was super fun, limits that made me more creative with how i built the maps. Then to see them get played and filled with people was always so fun.
It’s a sorta virtual novel type game, but it absolutely knew what it wanted to be and nails it 100% of the time. It’s teenage edge with an edge so sharp it actually breaks skin.
I went to several schools and had a lot of shitty drama growing up and it somehow nails that perfect catharsis while being funny as hell. They released an anime style trailer that made me buy it. I think it was the perfect limbic test for the whole game.
Ugh. Then you have never had them throw the game and basically work against the rest of the team just to hurt everyone else.
I don’t think there is any easy answer, it’s just more people playing and the world being ever increasingly full of narcissists who just only can think of themselves as right that means a portion of any online take is gonna be shit. And yeah it really made me stop bother playing
Yeah honestly the idea that a port should cost less because it’s a worse experience is stupid. As long as effort was put in and the game is still playable and as enjoyable an experience as other platforms whoever made it has any right to charge what they see fit for that platform.
Now should people buy it? Probably not and if it doesn’t run as well you can absolutely raise the argument of it was a pointless cash grab anyways but…
Being upset that a developer wants to get paid for a game no matter what platform they put it on… not a big deal
Yup the switch mortal Kombat 1 port likely used a tool to just downgrade and straight port the game over and this it didn’t actually run particularly well and was a stupid and low effort port… but someone still made that game before that was done.
So if they want to shoot themselves in the foot and cripple their own launch and game with bad performance that’s their own issue and one that is a separate conversation to them charging what they think is appropriate for their brand new game.
Seriously, I worked in media creation and like looking at movie budgets is painful for me cause so much of it is to pay people already at the top and overpaid more than enough.
Production and material costs haven’t grown as much as marvel movies would make you think so it is all going to executives lawyers and heads of the sweat shops of special effects houses.
No no… it’s the part that Sony owns a headphone company, and a TV company, and their first product was a rice cooker.
The point was that they enter a space using funds from one of their other arms to strongarm away competition and become a conglomerate that owns and operates a huge percentage of people’s lives and product purchases leaving almost no breathing room for other companies to ever enter.
It’s not about refund policy or their games it’s about the subsidized products they can only afford by min/maxing other economic spaces they control
Yes, because otherwise how the fuck can I afford to move apartments when my landlord raises the price by a thousand dollars a month. But also I have no assets so it’s my entire savings and I can’t put it anywhere because I need it within a year.
So yeah some of us are fucked and the idea that a middle class household would make 100k in 6 months means you have no touch on reality for real wages for lots of people.
Look I get that private trackers are probably safer and have a mored dedicated community but personally I still love anyone that keeps it public and keeps the knowledge of torrenting open and available as a tool for new people to discover.
I just use the public torrents, I have an IP Blocklist, and I seed the shit out of the stuff I download if it’s got less traction on it.
I will probably find a private group or something once I realize my obscure watching habits leave me out of finding stuff unless I can literally find it physical or get lucky but for now I’m a free pirate.
Most of the video games I’ve played were pretty good. The only one I can think of that I didn’t like was MySims Kingdom for the Nintendo DS. Dropped that pretty quickly. It was a long while ago, but I’ll guess it was because there were too many fetch quests and annoying controls.
Terraria, it’s a hot take I think but I just dislike it so much.
I dislike the controls, the appearance, the sorta jank, I just find it to be a more boring Minecraft and Minecraft can already be boring. I don’t understand the love for it and I think it ruined a friendship with a group that really only wanted to play that and league of legends
I am fine with games not telling me what to do cause I love Tunic and Outer Wilds but also there is still a somewhat obvious somewhat linear story available if you want it. The “do it yourself sandbox” games struggle to draw me in fast enough for me to not get bored and confused of learning an entire games worth of mechanics and optimization for no payoff before I put it down. And never pick it back up.
Smaller subscription deals and the underperformance of certain titles have had a severe impact on Devolver and TinyBuild, says stockbroking firm Goodbody....
This we will own nothing and be happy for it is exactly what got the world into it’s current mess and it really makes to many investor groups salvate at the thought of it.
He has a point where eventually these companies that have merged and want to run their own subscription is gonna kill this and people’s wallet for most of the money to go to the major players and devs anyways.
I’m sure Epic would love to have a subscription bundle and it would absolutely dry up money for indie studios unless they have private cash flow
