You shouldn't be clearing spam. You have people for that.
I spend time doing a bunch of reports to you on pill pushers and spam links. I could just as easily be spending my time banning those usernames, resulting in faster responses and better experience for everyone.
I think most people on the site would say your time is spent on doing admin stuff. Not mod spam stuff.
Ernest, please act on assigning mods to any of the magazines where you are the sole mod. The spam on those is significant and there are people willing to help. E.g. m/internet
Metafilter had a charge of a dollar or two to sign up, and no recurring payments. Seems like a good way to prevent spammers.
Not too much of a hurdle to cross, especially if payments are thru Amazon or some other existing service ppl have trust in. Any funds go to server costs.
Holocure is a surprisingly good survivors-like and it works perfectly on steam deck with no changes. Just don't change resolution on PC to something sd can't handle.

Monster generators have spam ed from audio CDs to barcodes and now to wireless signals. Interesting to think of a bunch of kids asking to scan Mom's bus pass or throw their old amiibo on to see if they can get something different.
I think it's related to the rules for display of media. E.g., you can turn on the TV and show a baseball game you receive from an antenna at your home. But if you are a sports bar and try to do the same thing, the MLB will come calling asking for license payments.
