Stylized graphics would have not helped with the performance, or the mismatching scale of objects & people, or the garbage UI structure, or the garbage game structure. The whole thing was just amateurish and cheap looking.
That also looks like it isn't performance like complete garbage. When I saw the first videos for Life By You I was kinda shocked that they even put that out to the public. I'm really not surprised they canned it.
Yeah. Pdx went the same shit route as EA by now, even have subscriptions too. Doesn't matter if I have to through hundreds of bucks at EA or Pdx for a single game. It's both the same shitty principle.
Got it on my wishlist for a long time but it doesn't seem to offer much, not even for its 4 bucks. And there's not really any decent gameplay videos out there either.
There's still a lot of people who simply yearn for a more complex spore type game. Spore's first evolution stage was supposed to be quite a bit more complex to what it ended up being too. You can still find some old presentation video of it around on YT but the quality suffered as one of the older YT videos and only has the low res one on offer.
Dude... You are the one missing the point here. lol
We were talking about them making a new actually modern engine, instead of sticking to their old gamebryo trash heap. And then you come along, claiming that they already did that, even though they literally did not. Please stop playing daft.
That's a years if not decade+ long project though, including major investments of time and money that you could pour into actual games. You can't just stomp a new game engine out of the ground, especially not with how complex video games in of itself have become, and if you want it to be as moddable as their current one.
Same. And I tried, even during a free weekend. But I couldn't even fix it because all the mods that changed the colors or unit sizes seemed to have been outdated and abandoned.
Hopefully Ara will be good, which at least looks to be very promising.
