What is „my language“? Because depending on where the game is from this changes. Have they thought of that? Because I know from experience that US companies cannot comprehend speaking more than one language.
Literally scheduled stupidity. I’m actually surprised they were this upfront with it being AI and reacted this quickly to backlash. This could’ve gotten a lot worse with a lesser understanding team believe it or not.
It will never happen on a large scale. Not as long as there is this much money to be made. I have no doubts these freaks will keep trying and make our lives harder, though.
I think it‘s very one sided again unfortunately because only one side is interviewed. Although it is interesting to hear how much harm the writers receive through corporate bullshittery. Given how ZA/UM started out and where this odyssey has headed since I‘d say this is nothing short of a modern Greek tragedy about greed and selling out.
Which is exactly what I expected them to do. I laughed at Blizzard fans being hopeful about the acquisition because things didn’t go well at the time. It was always just another step towards closure.
Steam is criminally understaffed and always caves in with no resistance when any actor wants to block access to thousands of games to millions of potential customers. This is just the latest chapter in a long history of them neglecting their users.
For example a large number of affected games in this case have already been blocked in Germany for a while because Steam refused to implement any type of age verification. They didn‘t even want a dialog with authorities and flat out region blocked affected games instead.
Now, I will say that this move by Germany was complete hypocrisy because it only affected unrated games and porn, when other 18+ games are still perfectly available because they „only“ contain massive amounts of violence. Somehow age verification isn‘t necessary here for some reason and gambling with cosmetic items is fine too? Good to know we have our priorities straight. /s
Whatever the case, the point is Steam always choses the path of least resistance. Germany has a system that lets users verify their age anonymously. Sony has implemented it for their store no problem but Steam doesn‘t even bother to have a single German speaker in their support team.
I noticed something was off when looking at the childish comments of the video and although it started out normally it quickly began hinting at the same anti-woke bullshit talking points they always try to apply to everything that doesn‘t match their twisted, self-enforced and ultimately self-contradictory world view. It‘s a terrible video by a terribly bitter loser who couldn‘t figure out why Ubisoft and other AAA companies are failing when it‘s spelled out for him to save his life. No idea why that even gets posted here and users are certainly only upvoting it here because they only read the title but I find it fascinating how we found the guy who could run Ubisoft even faster into the ground than it‘s current lead.
There are “challenges concerning scaling up companies, attracting financing” and “managing cyclical waves of labour lay-off”, the Commission announcement stated.
So they don‘t actually want to do anything right now because the same scummy companies that kill live service games are laying off workforce en masse as well? Ugh, I didn‘t expect much but that‘s rich.
They‘re basically saying: „Apologies, but we can‘t improve things right now. You see, the industry is too rotten already.“
As expected from the EU commission that is just as corrupt as AAA studios.
Fallout 3 isn‘t even a good game on the surface and I doubt anyone actually wants a UE5 slop version of it but people will buy it anyway not knowing they actually won‘t enjoy it because they haven‘t touched it since release if they ever even played it. It‘s success was entirely carried by hype but was ultimately already outdated when it came out. There is no logical reason to revive it because there are endless better alternatives out there but luckily for Todd Howard Bethesda fans aren‘t logical creatures and will buy that shit and proceed to not beat it and forget about it within a week.
How would it be? Unfortunately there are still a lot of consumer hostile practices going on that are completely legal in the EU. I‘m no expert of course so I‘m curious what EU law would regulate this exact practice.
The game had a huge cast with many memorable characters and moments. Not everyone was going to shine through especially with some fantastic performances like you mentioned.
I think the title of the post is just deceiving and should be changed to the title of the actual article. And perhaps the article title was changed too but it is a more accurate title of the situation.
She probably did more work on BG3 alone than all previous works combined though. The experience alone boosted their performance immensely. Neil Newbon compared his 4 years at the studio with 4 seasons of shooting a TV show and his role was about the same size as Jennifer‘s. BG3 wasn‘t just any job. Especially not for her. Anyone who actually follows her can attest to that. To say it didn‘t change the trajectory of her life and career takes some serious ignorance.
