I suspect it might be meant as a proxy for tax brackets based on income, I don’t think (could be wrong), that the game keeps track of each citizen’s salary, but they want to represent the phenomenon of better paying jobs generally requiring more education, and it does track education level
Wait a second, they take how nice the area is into account for rent? Does this mean I could also try to deal with too high rents in a given part of my city by like, removing the local park?

Honestly, I’d imagine the presence of lizard and cat people as playable characters did more for that than a little bit of suggestive in game flavor text tbh
Does this effectively mean that making a new account for any other reason is effectively against the rules in these kinds of game, because you’d start at the bottom rank, or is there some way of telling between an experienced player just making an alt or new account, and one specifically doing it for facing low ranked players?
That isn’t how we view writers at all though. Writers can refuse to sell you a physical book if they’ve made that, sure, but they can’t stop someone from selling you a used copy, or one that ended up in the hands of a library from being lent to you. They can’t stop you from sharing your copy of their book with a friend, or reading it to someone, even if they don’t want that someone to see it.
