I’ve been frustrated with these Japanese games lately like FF and Yakuza because of the graphics. Japan likes to use an anime style on their character models, which I personally don’t think looks good but whatever. The issue I have is that you walk around in a yakuza or FF or resident evil game and half the characters and NPCs look very realistic and like real people, and the main characters and some NPCs look like anime characters, different bone structure and art style. It’s distracting. I frankly think you stick to anime style or realistic modern style, you can’t just swap between the styles at will within the one game.
Does final fantasy still have invisible enemies that just attack you and put you into battle mode? Cause I found that outdated and stopped playing the games, im done with turn based but especially done with games where you can’t even see the enemy till they just battle you
Support your local libraries. My city’s library system is so good that I borrow games on release day all the time. You get them for 1-2 weeks, Most games that are older than a few weeks you can keep for up to 3 weeks, which gives me plenty of time to knock them off my list. Im sure I’ll get this one soon enough, im currently playing AC Shadows which I borrowed
Don’t speak I’ll of steam and billionaire Gabe around here. The steam bros are gonna crucify you for daring to even think ill of THEIR corporation and THEIR billionaire who of course loves and cares for them all.
This thread makes me wish we could have a discussion community where we exclude Americans. Even the left are nuts over there now. Nothing but name calling and shit slinging. Glad your country is drowning
Isn’t the good ending geralt giving her a Witcher blade and calling her an official witcher? That to me sets up part 4. End of the day im glad geralt gets a rest. Besides they’re remaking 1 and 2 so the geralt fix will come
Im always thrown off as a Canadian when I see these headlines because we’ve been paying $80 for games for decades.
Video games haven’t risen in cost with inflation and they’re much better and bigger now so I’m not super upset, but they are now at the point where I won’t buy a game at release or full price. I think the new price here is $93 cause that’s what the new Indiana jones is going for
What I hate most is that the game actually costs $150 and they split it and give you a stripped version for $80. I think gta 4 was the last game i truly felt made sense, game releases, we buy it, story dlc comes out later we get it, transaction over. No online bullshit that tries to keep you paying money into the game without end. Not a game split into little chunks and sold as tiers at release
I would say gta is one of the only few games I would pay that much for and I know I’ll get my moneys worth, but I’m not interested in gta online. I wish we could get story dlc like we did with gta 4
We’ve all played them. Backtracking, not knowing where to go. Going back and forth. Name some of these games from your memory. I’ll start: Final Fantasy XIII-2, RE1
Son, you’re talking to a guy who spoke no English when he first played the legend of Zelda for NES. Talk about playing a game that doesn’t tell you where to go next
I still remember the first time playing morrowind and being blown away by the freedom. For some reason my clearest memory of that game is a dude falling from the sky and splatting. Then I stole his magic boots and died the same way.
To run the games i wanna play would require a pc worth 3 ps5s
Edit: people here don’t like facts, but where I live a pc that matches a ps5 is around $1500+ it you’re lucky. Yes your pc is better than my ps5 in the same way that your Ferrari is better than my Honda. But I like Hondas.
Again no, that’s not my taste. I’m just saying steam doesn’t work for most people. The convenience of a console alone is always gonna keep me. To know i can buy a game 5 years after the console is released and it’ll run. PC gaming is superior, but it costs way more and takes way more work. Im it’s not convenient for casual people like me, especially since I want to sit on my couch with a controller and not have to interact with a computer
Very odd comparison, you need to buy a ps5 to be a ps5 user, you don’t need to buy anything to be a steam user, you just need to sign up and you’re considered a user.
lol the Nintendo hate is so odd, 99% of games do. It come with the dlc. Unless you buy a season pass additionally. Why only call out Zelda for something that is normal and has been for a long time?
Japanese game companies are allergic to modern, working ideas. I’ve always dislikes how Japanese games look terrible. They don’t even try sometimes and you have ps5 games that look like ps3. They have game series like mega man that they refuse to Move past side scrolling, you play their games and they even leave out basic shit like “pick up item” animations and voice acting. I find Japanese games antiquated and even if they’re fun, they feel like I’m playing a last gen game when I play a Japanese saga or similar dev game.
Pokémon is a good example of a series that refuses to make a current gen game. They all feel like ds games on a switch
Side scroller games ARE fun, sometimes. Imagine if if no game had ever evolved past it though. Mega man is my favourite game character and I sit there playing games like ratchet & clank and wishing we could get a modern mega man to match it.
I have been a patient gamer and for the last 2 years with psplus and a library card I have burned through every ps4 title worth playing and decided to finally upgrade to a ps5.
3 months in and I’m struggling to find games that look good to me. I keep trying unknown titles and they’re meh.
I can’t believe that years into the ps5 life and I don’t have a backlog of like dozens of ps5 games to play.
They’ve lost the plot, their next Batman game will just be an online garbage fest. The last Batman game they worked on barely squeaked by as playable and they shit the bed completely after that point. We’re never gonna be back to Arkham 1 & 2 quality.
And even if we could go back to that? Why? It’s been done. The story is over. Move on to someone else instead of just going back to Batman.
To me it would be like announcing a new elder scroll games that takes place in Skyrim. I mean I love Batman but that’s enough. A green arrow game made in the same way would work, or even a proper open world superman
My favourite part of the books is how everyone thinks and assumes Geralt is an emotionless mutant, and he plays up that image. meanwhile he’s the most capricious, emotional child when he’s upset or hurt lol
