This is probably in my top five games of all time. I think it really works if you try hard not to compare it to other games, and just play it on its own merit. It can definitely be janky, but that’s part of the charm.
However, you will have no idea how mechanics work, and you will frustrate both yourself and team mates. This could even get you reported as trolling in extreme cases.
Edit: it also only skips one expansion at a time, and at $11 USD per expansion, that’s $44 and you STILL only get to Endwalker. No skip for that yet, although I bet there will be when Dawntrail drops. Still, why pay $55 to skip the game? That’s insane.

And according to Ubisoft, people want always-on live-service AAAAAAA $99 deluxe edition games stuffed absolutely full of microtransactions, loot boxes, daily exclusive rewards, kermel level root kits DRM, Ubisoft connect exclusive, nightmare shitfests that you don’t really own anyway.
I have a vague memory of swinging milk jugs on a chain from some silly unlockable. Also the very first 10 seconds of the game and you’re fighting a boss really threw me off, but I loved every minute of it lol
The end of bl2’s Tiny Tina’s assault on dragons keep where she admits she knows Roland is dead, and gives his statue a big hug. A rare moment in those games
Read all of Sarah’s lab notes that are scattered around as collectibles. They really help give insight into her thought process as soon as she saw Deacon again and flesh out the reasoning why her reception seemed as icy as it was.
