AceFuzzLord, do gaming w Maybe hot take: as a handheld, the regular switch is an awful handheld

One of my biggest complaints with the switch is definitely how my hands are too big for me to be truly comfortable with holding them when they’re disconnected from the console. Either one in each hand or one for both hands. That, and I think the batteries in my joycons are a little screwed, so I just said fuck it and got a controller because the last few times I used my switch was connected to a TV.

AceFuzzLord, do games w Bethesda Quietly Removes Denuvo DRM from Ghostwire: Tokyo

Stuff like this makes me wish I was smart enough to be one of those DRM crackers.

AceFuzzLord, do gaming w If anything, I expect to enjoy them MORE once I can share the interest with my kids

Closest I’ve come to this is how I’ve overplayed the few games I’ve been playing recently and it’s started to become boring because of it. Though, I think I’ve ended up addicted enough to where I couldn’t fully quit games as a hobby, even if I wanted.

AceFuzzLord, do gaming w This also applies to a lot of RPG fans

Biggest reason I play visual novels is definitely for story and lack of gameplay, usually (cough cough Danganronpa cough cough). Gameplay means little to me if I’m really interested in the story and wanna see it through.

Let’s not give them any ideas or they might actually do it!

AceFuzzLord, do gaming w Phil Spencer blames capitalism for games industry woes: 'I don't get [the] luxury of not having to run a profitable growing business'

88 = Heil Hitler

That’s one I’ve never heard before. Is it some sort of neonazi slang or am I just really dumb?

Well, looked it up before posting this comment. That’s absolutely crazy that it’s an actual thing.

AceFuzzLord, do games w Will Smith Zombie Game No One Has Heard Of Bombs

I don’t think I can recall something truly novel since I think we’ve pretty much gone past the point of novel concepts in the majority of genres, but there have definitely been standouts in certain genres over the years.

In the deck building and rogue like genre we’ve seen Balatro, the poker based game. In the retro inspired games genre, we’ve got Corn Kidz 64, a shorter game that controls and looks like an N64 title.

Totally depends on the genre, though.

I personally like to think this trend of enshittification in the gaming industry is geared more towards the triple AAA side of things because a lot of the actual indie devs (not the people putting out low effort mobile games or shovelware or scams or straight up large corporatios masquerading their games as indie titles) are putting out some of the best games I’ve seen in years for single player experiences.

Though I absolutely agree with your assessment of the situation in general.

AceFuzzLord, do gaming w Anyone else addicted to Balatro right now?

Absolutely addicted. Not as addicted as when I first got it, but still addicted. Spent the last few times playing just trying to beat the challenge of beating a game in 12 or less rounds. Only way I could beat it is by the throwback joker being in the shop for the first time. Definitely a fun game.

AceFuzzLord, do gaming w Ignorance is bliss

Even if I am pretty sure I’m not getting a virus, I’m always nervous when that happens regardless of the program on my desktop.

AceFuzzLord, do gaming w What are some good PSP games?

This series ain’t for everyone, but I personally like the Hatsune Miku Project Diva rhythm games and recommend them since I like the variety of songs they have.

AceFuzzLord, do gaming w Poor Bloodborne must be lonely

The latest one is, but all the others ain’t yet as far as I am aware. Either way, it blows my mind they decided to go that route, making a playstation less desirable.

AceFuzzLord, do gaming w We've had a few killer games recently

Well, you sold me on not playing Helldivers for the same reason I will never play Lethal Company: bug creatures.

AceFuzzLord, do games w What are some good games with *zero* replayability?

I personally think the main series Danganronpa games alongside Despair Girls have enough of a play through the main story mode (don’t know if there are any other modes for Despair Girls) and then you don’t replay almost ever type of gameplay since they’re visual novels, technically. (I don’t consider them visual novels because I consider those to be just images/animations and a text box on screen with no control over a character).

The 3rd game even has a mode you unlock at the end that has replayability, though, so I don’t know if that would disqualify it.

Also, another game I like with pretty much no replayability besides watching your favorite scenes play out would be the point and click adventure game Beyond the Edge of Owlsgarde. It’s a game that, if you know what you’re doing, can be completed in 2 hours. My first playthrough took a lot longer though, since I didn’t know what I was doing. Also, it only has 2 endings and if you miss the good ending, you’ll get a hint at the end of the bad ending which will guide you to the good ending.

AceFuzzLord, do gaming w Just fuck off back to ranked already

Well, this image summarized how I look at all professionals at a specific game regardless of how they actually are like.
