@chloyster I think you can still see my reply even though i deleted the other thread, but thanks again for the advice! For others that may want to post review threads in the future: OpenCritic has a “share” button with several options, and the “reddit” option formats nicely for Lemmy. However, the “share” button only seems to show up on OpenCritic’s mobile site, so you may not see it if you are trying to create a review thread on your desktop computer.

@HawlSera @chloyster I mean, I absolutely know people who use she/her but present very masc, and vise-versa. They may be relatively uncommon, but so are trans people in general and we're still worth representing. Not to mention non-binary people who have relatively binary gender presentation. Your experience is absolutely not universal.

But I wanted to point a tangent, from the article you linked:

Coincidentally, the Romans would count like 👍👉👌… instead of “thumb, index, middle” for the numeral “3”, because that resembled the letters “IV”, which were the first two letters of “IVPITER”, or “Jupiter”, formerly known as “Zeus”, the God of Gods, and making the “IV” sign in vain was considered a blasphemy… similar to how Jewish people wouldn’t “use the name of God in vain”, which lead to the expression “hallelujah” from “hallelu-Yah***”, meaning “praise Yah***”… in order to also not say the whole name of God. Curiously, Muslim people have no problem with saying “Allah” or writing “ﷲ”, just with depictions of their prophet, go figure.

These sign shenanigans have been going on for thousands of years, only difference is now a “meme” with 10 comments on 4chan, can become a hate sign used by thousands or millions in less than a decade.

PS: another curious one, is the ✋ “Hi!” vs. the Greek 🖐 “I smear 💩 on your face”… best not to confuse them 😉 (“oops, got something in my eye” /s)

@chloyster Guild Wars 2 World vs World and Ghost Recon Breakpoint (which was on deep discount). The latter appears to have been mostly turned around with regards to its release bugs but I am still in the process of gauging the capability of the enemy AI.
The fact that you can tweak the gameplay details on a scale of "the division Style looter shooter" right up to "almost mil-sim" levels is quite impressive to me.

@chloyster I started playing Verdun this week. I wanted to attend to their Christmas event. It's basically a mode after that incident in 1916 when some units of the armies fighting on the Western front began approaching each other. In the game you can play football (and the winning team wins the game basically), but you can also throw snowballs at other players and if they're hit, they freeze for a while. You can also send postcards via email to others if you go to the mailmen. Or via Facebook or Xitter (if I remember correctly). It would be great to be able to send these here on the fediverse, but eh...
