Big PlayStation 5 update out now
The PlayStation 5 system software that has been in beta since July is now available to everyone.
System software version 23.02-08.00.00 is a big update bringing a lot of new features.
Remote Play support for devices running Android TV OS 12. There are also new voice commands for the US and UK. You can now say “Hey PlayStation, Help” to launch help content or “Hey PlayStation, What’s New?” to show new PS5 features and the current PS Plus lineup.
You can now assign a second controller to one account as an assist controller, and use two controllers to operate your PS5 console as if you were using a single controller.
There is now haptic feedback while using the system UI.
Support for compatible Dolby Atmos devices which will allow most Dolby Atmos devices to take advantage of the Tempest 3D technology built into the PS5.
The PS5 now supports M.2 SSD’s up to 8TB up from the previous limit of 4TB.
There are also new library features which allow you to search your library for specific games and you can also lower the volume or even mute the system beep when you power on the system.
