Honestly I feel the best way to play any Kojima game is to seperate the story and gameplay mentally. Like playing monopoly but every twenty minutes your great grandfather drops family lore and rants about how the English are at fault for all the worlds problems in increasing long winded rants.
I think theres also the secondary unstated factor some of us have, that being that Steam is working as a solid buffer against more malignant groups. The fact that Steam is for a lack of a better term incorruptible is frankly very useful, especially with groups like the Saudis and China investing a lot of money and influence into gaming recently. Better a flawed but ultimately decent corporation than whatever the fuck the Saudis or China would replace it with.
Another thing to do is just go back and look at older games. A lot of them fell through the cracks over the years. Like Arcanum: Of steamworks and magic only problem is half the forum posts are in polish or written cyrillic and the best guide is an ancient ass website I need to archieve.
Qhile that is true the effects of it were lesser since it was more niche. Plus some of the best games are still in their own weird niche, ive been playing STALKER GAMMA which is a free modpack for a free mod, and help I am being consumed! I DREAM OF REPAIR KITS AND GUN ANIMATION, HNNNNNNGH KILL MONOLITH!
The one thing consoles have had for a long time over PC is physical disks. Fuck what I wouldnt do to have non-steam required disks. Btw I know itd be slow I dont care.
For a CRPG their fucking great, also I wouldnt be surprised if a lot of that praise is coming from folks who play CRPGs on the norm. When your standard frame of reference is fucking Arcanum it tends to be a bit scewed. Also play Arcanum: of steamworks and magick obscura its really fucking good.
Upcoming augmented reality horror, Scrylight, will be a "fully immersive, 360 degree ghost hunting experience" that will not just turn your own home into a haunted house, but also interact with your real-life smart lights and doorbells, too....
Fun fact there were olny six years between Oblivion and Skyrims release. Thats right skyrim has been out longer than the release time between oblivion and skyrim.

I wouldnt call a PS4 e-waste, if the PS2 is anything to go by it will end up cycling about for a long time in some shape or form. Seriously PS2 parts are a solid mix of old new stock, newly manufactured parts, or spares taken from scrapped dead consoles.
Regular use is irrelevant so long as it doesnt end up in a land fill, what matters is that they get some continued use and survive in solid enough numbers.
Eh, I will still be able to play the base game of say far cry 4 or assassins creed black flag. I have the disks, and even then you could always buy the versions that have all the dlc. Nobody talks about the fable 1 dlc but they existed.
Unless its a multiplayer focused game there will always be games to play on it, even if ya dont get the DLC.

I dont know why youre getting downvoted but this is the most accurate description of some of the things you can create, especially in mass effect 1. Seriously that game has some nearly oblivion level fuckery.
The fallout 4 map is basically the same as the fallout 3 and new vegas map, and now that I think about it oblivion. So this is verry much a two steps forward one step back situation.
That aint a bad thing, their start screens are simple but functional. Why put too much effort into it when 80 percent of the time it wont even be active for more than 5 seconds. Make it look nice but dont go overboard.
