The joysticks are way better than the Switch and comparable to regular controllers. I haven’t had any issues with stick drift, and generally find it quite pleasant.

What exactly were your issues with the joysticks?

And yeah, being able to replace them a/ hall effect sticks is awesome, and I plan to do so if the sticks ever run into issues or I need to open it up for some reason. But I have no complaints, and in fact love playing with gryo aiming.

even replace your laptop

If you never bring your laptop with you and already have a second monitor, sure. Using the trackpads as a mouse kinda sucks though.

Yeah, I got DLC for Smash Brothers. I don’t see DLC for Cities Skylines though, but it seems After Dark and Snowfall come with it (and maybe more?).

Right, and the way licenses work should be illegal. If I purchase something, I should be able to do whatever I want with it, for as long as I choose to. That’s what purchase means.

If I rent/subscribe to something, that only lasts for the duration of my contract.

Sure, I’m not entitled to get things the way I want, but am entitled to get things the way they were advertised. If I buy a game, I should be able to play it even if the publisher shops selling it. They have options on how to handle that, either by releasing the server code so I can self-host it, removing the server bits so I can play offline, or continuing to keep servers online for existing owners.

Sure, but when the link is to a video, I don’t blame them.

That only works if the server code gets leaked or someone reverse engineers it. Both of those options shouldn’t be relied on, especially for more complex or less popular games.

Why doesn’t that graph show at risk games?

sugar_in_your_tea, do games w "You can't just have Geralt for every single game" says his voice actor, and if you think The Witcher 4 making Ciri the protagonist is "woke," then "read the damn books"

He apparently worked on Oblivion (and Skyrim), so there’s a chance. He took a chance on Starfield and failed, so hopefully he learns from that instead of doubling down.

Eh, I didn’t like Skyrim as much as Morrowind, so I think there’s some room for ES6 to improve on ES5.

sugar_in_your_tea, do games w $80 for Borderlands 4 too costly? Randy Pitchford says, "If you're a real fan, you'll find a way to make it happen"

Exactly. That’s why I buy Nintendo games near release and am patient for PC games.

sugar_in_your_tea, do games w I'm a console gamer so, Why the hate on the Epic Games Store?

Here are my reasons:

  • no Linux support - Heroic works, why doesn’t Epic do what GOG do and revenue share w/ Heroic?
  • exclusivity deals, which reduces options outside of EGS
  • Epic’s anticheat works on Linux, but their own games that use it don’t, that’s a pretty big slap in the face

I certainly want more competition to Steam, but that competition needs to do something other than exist for me to use it. GOG is that, and if they properly supported Linux, they’d get most of my gaming money. But they don’t, so they only get some of it.

Yeah, this probably reads like a Linux fanboy post or something, but I’ve been using Linux longer than Steam supported it with its client, and I’ll still be here if Steam leaves. It’s my platform of choice, and a vendor needs to meet me here if they want my business. Valve did, so they get my money. I honestly don’t need much, I just need games to work properly on my system.

Go fish.

sugar_in_your_tea, do games w Grand Theft Auto 4 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S reportedly in development, could release this year

Yeah, I’d much prefer they make it a DLC or something for the existing game instead of a new entry entirely. I’d ideally be able to toggle between old and new in the same game.

It’s probably because things get janky on high FPS. I wasn’t able to complete the game until I capped the FPS in the final mission (helicopter scene).
