ouRKaoS,

I have a bunch of coupons for hotdogs that I got years ago, because the were like $1 for 20 hotdogs.

ouRKaoS,

Steam Deck + Docking station.

You can get a knock off dock for about $25, and a non-OLED deck is $400. Minimal setup to get. Emulators running, and the whole thing is portable if you want to relocate to a different room / a buddy’s house / a projector in the backyard.

ouRKaoS,

Understandable, I was just suggesting it as a cost-effective choice. Consoles are usually more hardware than you pay for, and ≈$500 for a ready-to-go solution right out of the box isn’t bad.

The useless screen isn’t much different than a docked switch, or using an old laptop as a HTPC.

Bonus is if you ever want to upgrade the system, you can still use the deck as a portable solution later.

ouRKaoS,

Sounds like you just need to do a case swap on the VRPC. A case w/o all the RGB gamer aesthetic solves most of your issues for about $50, since you already have decent hardware available.

For your use as a secondary system, not that I’m a Valve shill, but I kinda still suggest the Steam Deck… You wouldn’t have to mount a secondary screen, since it’s already built in, and it gives you the option to kick back however you want on the couch to play.

The amount of times I’ve sat on the couch playing on mine with one earbud in while my wife is watching TV is pretty significant, so a bit of asynchronous play would be available there as well. A small, black, zippered case can be tucked away a lot easier than a wall mounted swing arm as well.

I had looked into getting a Micro PC for a living room setup, but ended up getting the Steam Deck because it gave me more options for around the same price. I got mine about a year after they released & after getting it I realized I should have gotten it sooner.

ouRKaoS,

TIM took up so much of my free time on my Packard Bell 486 back in the day

ouRKaoS,

I would do terrible things for a VR Eternal Darkness.

I also would probably be too scared to actually play it.

ouRKaoS,

I remember having to clean up after my cousins coming to my house, playing every game I owed for 30 seconds each, fingerprinting all the discs, and not putting them back in the correct cases.

…is this where my anxiety and anti social issues came from?

ouRKaoS,
  • Traveling to an island in Animal Crossing, where you could bury random items and get sacks of Bells in return, up to 10k for a single item.

That’s how I paid off my house.

ouRKaoS,

Four Swords is the most competitive co-op game I have ever played. It’s brutally fun, but you’re going to want to punch your friends in the throat after about 30 minutes.

This comic is an accurate description of the experience.

ouRKaoS,

To learn Kingdom Hearts lore going in blind you’d need an autistic kid who’s hyper-fixated on it, a couple cases of monster energy, and a weeks worth of LSD micro doses.

That should get you up to speed on about 50% of it.

ouRKaoS,

The cart sequence in the Armored Armadillo stage of Megaman X drops to like 1FPS if you get enough sprites on the screen.

Gameplay mechanics were also a lot better with more replayability. (lemmy.world) angielski

Ignoring the lack of updates if the game is buggy, games back then were also more focused on quality and make gamers replay the game with unlockable features based on skills, not money. I can’t count the number of times I played Metal Gear Solid games over and over to unlock new features playing the hardest difficulty and with...

ouRKaoS,

WrestleMania 2000 on N64 had a bug that would randomly delete all saved data.

ouRKaoS,

The difference between StarCraft and Brood War is staggering.

I miss getting that big of an upgrade to things. Not to mention the level editor and the endless river of user created content.

ouRKaoS,

Rougelikes are my go-to for that no save old school feeling.

ouRKaoS,

D2 was popular enough to get a remake, so…

ouRKaoS,

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM…

Still haunts my nightmares

Who, in your opinion, is the most annoying character in any game?

Personally, it’s Faith from Farcry 5 for me. Uninteresting dialog that can be summed up to “I was bullied once” and that’s it. Literally every other character is so much more interesting. Jacob gives you a sequence where you run through a gulag which he then uses against you, John tries to kill you and is openly hateful...

ouRKaoS,

Pokemon didn’t grow up with it’s player base. They try and keep the storylines Kid friendly, when I’d guess 70%+ of players are adults.

Black & White probably had the most “Adult” narratives of the series, delving into the slavery/forced labor a bit. I’d love to see the games delve into some more adult themes, but I doubt it will happen.

ouRKaoS,

I got Brotato on sale a couple weeks ago on steam and I’m terrible at it but still having a good time.

Got 3 victories under my belt & a bunch of unlocks, though. Any pointers for a “noob”?

ouRKaoS,

I hope it gets a remake like VII.

ouRKaoS,

What needs to be remade? Nothing; I’d just like to see updated graphics, a couple tweaks in the story here and there, and maybe a few tweaks to the sphere grid.

It’s a great game, I just wouldn’t mind seeing it get upgraded a bit.

ouRKaoS,

The only reason I knew there was fast travel in Spider-Man was because there was an achievement for it.

ouRKaoS,

But it’s on sale.

I buy it now, save 50%, and my download queue can tell me which game I play next out of… 637…

Oh.

Recommend a game for me to play with my partner angielski

My partner and I occasionally play games together, but they pretty much only play word puzzle games on their own. I’m not very good at word games though, and they don’t have very good spatial skills, so we frequently find ourselves mismatched. We have a switch and a single decent gaming pc, and a pretty old laptop....

ouRKaoS,

In the realm of Rhythm games and movement input: Beat Saber.

A bit of an initial investment for the VR setup, but well worth it.

ouRKaoS,

True.

I’ve had better luck w/ Beat Saber “multiplayer” in a party type setting where there was turns being taken by 5+ people.

Keep talking & nobody explodes is perfect in VR, though, because the diffuser is in their own world.
