dinckelman,

Time will tell. On paper, yes. In practice, who knows

dinckelman,

Taking lessons from Nintendo. At least it’s not backwards/downwards firing, but doing this kind of shit requires a manufacturer to be as daft as Dell. That’s not an easy feat to achieve

dinckelman,

Cancellation like this aren’t always bad. Especially given BG3 as a whole, sometimes it’s good to just ship a complete product, and move onto newer things. They earned a break

dinckelman,

Huge fan of that game. Can’t wait for the second one

What does getting "delisted" off Steam means for games I already own? angielski

Recently I’ve seen news about adult swim games going delisted probably off steam, one of my fav games is published by adult swim games and I want to know what will happen to it, will steam strike it off my list even if I have it installed? Will I still be able to back it up and restore its backups? Will I still be able to...

dinckelman,

Nothing changes for you, if you already own them. They’ll still be in your library like before. Visually, the only difference will be that those specific games will have no store page

dinckelman,

I’ve been pretty much all-digital since… Steam came out. Outside of Switch games (I dont trust Nintendo with how they handle their NNID system. it’s just janky), it doesn’t really make sense for me to buy physical copies. The obvious benefit there is resale, but I can rarely afford new games, so by the time I either get them, or finish playing them, they’ve already dropped in value entirely

dinckelman,

I feel really bad for the talent that’s getting laid off, however

cookie banner

i ain’t opening this website

dinckelman,

I lowkey could not figure out how to properly play the first game, so hopefully all of that got a little more streamlined in the sequel

dinckelman,

A delayed game/dlc is always better than a rushed one

dinckelman,

That’s a whole separate can of worms. I don’t have any respect for studios, that actually force people to work hours like this, just to hit some arbitrary deadline, that they imposed on themselves

dinckelman,

Just because the Ubisoft CEO comes up with new flashy words to describe something, it still won’t make up for the fact that this is an awful, unpolished, and unfinished game, just like pretty much anything else Ubisoft released in the last decade, as a first-party developer

dinckelman,

Companies like Embracer are a disease. Their leadership are taking any passion out of the art, and continue running the money printing machine with no oil between the gears

dinckelman,

Those are some incredibly favorable reviews. Always good to see.

I’m still about halfway through Like a Dragon 7, but i’m really burnt out from playing all the games prior to it, so i’ll be taking a look at 8 at some point later

dinckelman,

Not unexpected, but sad. Hope they make it. ELEX is a mess, but there is definitely still hope

dinckelman,

Ubisoft make it pretty easy for me. I don’t have to worry about any of this, because none of their recent titles have been worth spending your money, let alone time on

dinckelman,

I love Prison Architect, but I have absolutely 0 trust in Paradox, as they stand today

dinckelman,

If that were the case, thankfully Steam support is pretty good at helping with issues like this one. I had an account stolen from me over 10 years ago. New display name, new email, new password. Didn’t remember the login itself, but I had a cd-key and the original email that was attached to the account. They recovered that pretty damn quickly

dinckelman, (edited )

Cruelty Squad is very often overlooked because of how it looks, but it’s genuinely one of the best indie games I have ever played

dinckelman, (edited )

Same experience here. I’ve already owned the base game, but none of the DLC. It let me accept Spacer’s Choice, which is literally just another store entry for the base game, but you can buy the upgrade for 10$ instead of 17$.

Update: I’ve done some research. Apparently this version of the game is like a third-party remaster done by a different company, hence why it’s a different entry in the store

dinckelman,

I am shocked that this is actually happening. Between continuous performance issues, and the overall “maintenance mode”-like state of the game, I definitely did not expect for them to start working on something of this scale. Definitely looking promising

dinckelman,

Everyone knew it would be a pump and dump

dinckelman,

Really not upset about it at all. They’ve lied to people, mislead everyone, gave false or incomplete descriptions of the product, and then released a horribly buggy asset dump, that doesn’t look anything like the pre-rendered clip they’ve shown forever ago

dinckelman,

They’ve done it with every generation of GTA recently. It will probably not come out at launch, people will buy the console version, and then suddenly it comes out on pc a year later. We’ve seen the tactic before

dinckelman,

I got bullied into buying World on release, and then another time on PC :|

dinckelman,

Sucks that it’s delayed, but at least they are giving us a pretty comprehensive list of what we can expect

dinckelman,

I wish we lived in a universe, where these platforms can exist on their own, without falling into the trap of needing financial support from literal satan, in companies like Fandom

dinckelman,

I genuinely just don’t understand the value proposition of this handheld. It’s remote play only, with no standalone capabilities, that also only works with the PS5. You could use your existing phone, and receive exactly the same product. Or if you’re committed to buying a handheld, you could absolutely get a Steam Deck, still receive the remote functionality, but also have a system that can not only play your PC games, but play like 5 generations of console games from the past

dinckelman,

This game is unironically one of the best indie games I’ve played recently. Just yesterday I was finishing it up on Hope Eradicated. Strongly, strongly recommended

dinckelman,

This is the only scenario where you must stop thinking, and just start doing

dinckelman,

There is 0% chance this has happened by accident. Someone ordered the developers to program for them to appear there, and that’s exactly how they ended up there

What do you think of Eastward? angielski

I think the pixel art style is great. At the beginning I also thought the game was very cool with a very intriguing story, but then the game started to ask me to do totally useless things for progressing in the story, like: go find the berry for cooking the meal for this person for no reason, but then something stupid happens so...

dinckelman,

I’ve finished the game, and thought it was a pretty decent experience. Pacing is a little weird, but the gameplay loop is fun, and the story is engaging enough. Grab it on sale

dinckelman,

I genuinely want to hear what he thinks the cause of this issue is. Surely he is intelligent enough to put one and two together.

If you continuously underdeliver, repeatedly ignore community feedback, gaslight people into thinking something other than what they believe, and then top it off with mtx of way higher quality than the game itself - that’s all we need to know.

Make a good fucking game, and people won’t have “waning interest”. Even the most die-hard fans within my friend circles have refunded TFS, and I fully understand why

dinckelman,

You don’t like standing in circles, and throwing energy orbs at things, for 22 seasons in a row?

Bungie CEO Claims Layoffs Were Due to Destiny 2 Underperformance - IGN (www.ign.com) angielski

In an internal town hall meeting addressing a Monday round of layoffs that impacted multiple departments, Bungie CEO Pete Parsons allegedly told remaining employees that the company had kept “the right people” to continue work on Destiny 2.

dinckelman,

I hate that they make it sound, as if it’s an impossible issue to solve. It’s underperforming because new people can’t figure out what to do in the game, and veterans cannot find enough things to do. You can only play crucible for so long.

They clearly have the artists and the engineers to do this, but they put all of that effort into new cash shop skins, rather than game content

dinckelman,

Michael Sechrist is also gone with him :\

dinckelman,

This will be abandonware by the end of 2024, without a doubt

dinckelman,

Vote with your wallet. Their execs can pull numbers out of their ass all day, but maybe they should cut some out of their salary for a change

dinckelman,

I’ve played this game for a few hours, and yes, it does run like garbage. That said, I could close my eyes to all of that, if they didn’t also launch the game with several infuriating bugs, and a handful of design choices I really don’t understand yet.

I’ll let it brew for a while. Hope is not lost, but I’m not ready to play this yet

dinckelman,

Buildings become indestructible once placed. Some roads don’t connect because of “invalid shapes”, while being as simple as it can possibly be. The endless high rent pop-up. Services not being detected despite them being literally next-door

dinckelman,

I feel really bad for the people working on these games. PAYDAY 3 will eventually reach success in a niche, but will likely be hated by those same people.

The objective behind a game like this, or Sims, or FIFA/FC, is not to create a great gameplay experience. Sadly, they make a passable game, that will help them leech money sustainably for a considerable amount of time, through endless DLC. Paradox will inevitably make Colossal Order do the same with C:S2, despite them claiming that it’ll be fewer but larger DLC.

There are very few studios I will refuse to show respect for, and the one behind PAYDAY is one of them. Just like what remains of Maxis

dinckelman,

If not for mods, I would not play 4 at all. It’s just bland. It has no soul. And don’t get me started on how broken the few recent expansions were. Not just “egh, an occasional bug that would prompt a restart”, straight up irreparable damage to your save, and broken features that are still not fixed

Use of AMD Anti-Lag+ technology in Counter Strike 2 will result in a VAC Ban, Valve confirms (videocardz.com) angielski

AMD has made an oversight in implementing their new technology that poses a significant issue for Counter Strike 2 players who have opted to utilize AMD’s AntiLag+. Recently, AMD introduced a new 23.10.1 driver allowing players to access this technology in the game. However, it has now been confirmed that utilizing this...

dinckelman,

Not even purely just a CS/Valve issue, which is the worst part. Anything that runs BattlEye struggles with rampant unpunished cheating, and yet they successfully ban anyone running legit systems, or software that has nothing to do with the game. Somehow it’s only getting worse, because a bunch of new games are introducing Ring0 anticheats, that have access to way too much information, but still fail to do what they’re designed to

dinckelman,

Difference is that Unity was generally favorable, until the recent blunders, while Epic has generally been disliked for quite a long time now, because of Tim acting like a complete cunt to a lot of people on the industry, including the consumers for his own products

dinckelman,

Just don’t give this any time of day. Even if this was a good game, Blizzard, let alone Microsoft, are shit companies you shouldn’t support. It doesn’t help that it’s also just a bad aRPG

dinckelman,

Once you turn what you love doing into a business, there’s no going back. There are still people deeply passionate about making games, but that’s just not the reality of these massive studios. They’re in for the money, and the leadership aren’t even… gamers themselves, somehow

dinckelman,

That’s basically all I do at this point, and it’s been really nice. A lot of genuinely fantastic experiences. Always labor of love, a game they’d love to play themselves

dinckelman,

Definitely not the only one. But it’s not just games either, it’s cinematography too. Or even food, really. When you watch 500 movies a month, everything looks exactly the same. Not to mention that half of these critics companies are completely untrustworthy, and often post either uneducated reviews, or just plain garbage. Think of something like IGN’s Redfall video. The game is obviously horrible, but the person playing it didn’t know how to hold a controller. Or the one with Cuphead, where they failed the tutorial.

tldr: I only really trust opinions of my friends. These review sites have no value

dinckelman,

Well, at least that’s good to hear. Glad the workers are treated well, but I’m with you otherwise. I won’t be spending any money on their titles
