TriflingToad,

HAPPY CAKE DAY 🎉🐛🐛🎉🎉

TriflingToad, (edited )

for REAL. all my homies hate steam big picture

edit: I mean on PC when you’re not using a controller, it definitely has a use.
though tbh I don’t think the UI design is that great tbh. The switches homepage is better imo

TriflingToad,

can you explain? did they do something special or did they just release a game like by queers in the dedicated queer month? (I’ve only gotten through the tutorial of Undertale and that’s it lol)

TriflingToad,

I’m locking my answer in on the old Minecraft music. Literally EVERYONE knows it.

TriflingToad,

I bought borderlands 2 the other week and it’s been a blast on my SteamDeck. Unfortunately it seems it’s one of those games that loves to connect online all the time, like it’ll kick me out of single player if it detects wifi and make me reload into… singleplayer, but online. with 0 differences.

I probably would’ve been better off pirating it tbh.

TriflingToad,

it’s not for everyone 🤷‍♀️

Doom Eternal is one of my favorite games precisely because you switch weapons so often and are a slaughter machine. I beat the dlcs and had a blast. I enjoyed the difficulty honestly, it forced me to get better and actually feel like I ‘deserved’ to have the power of the doomslayer. The Marauder has to be my favorite enemy in all of gaming. He was SO hard the first time but once you learn how to counter him you can FUCK HIM UPP. It’s so satisfying to completely 180 him and turn him to a pile of gibs. The 2 at once fight in the first DLC was my favorite encounter of the whole game.

Tutorial hints were super annoying though, however you can just turn them off in settings.

2016 was boring for me tbh. Super excited for dark ages.

TriflingToad,

if there’s a “funny” react option there should ALSO be a ‘display negative, but be positive’ option because joke reviews harm the view of amazing games SO MUCH

fnaf1 has 96% positive reviews where nearly half of the negative ones are just shitposts

TriflingToad,

I’ll disagree with your disagreement lol

I think it is a good horror game, at least for the first playthrough. (Though most horror games aren’t good for replayability)

You directly control your fate and the first two nights you hardly have to do anything which lead to you micro analyzing everything, terrifying yourself even if there’s not a real threat, which means in the later nights when there ARE threats it actually terrifies the shit out of you. Add the “holy FUCK” feeling of foxy running made my soul fall out of my socks.

that being said though replayability is mid and when the whole series is just the same game over and over but different it loses its charm. Also the community is really insane which is the reason I didn’t play it until wayyy after the hype died down.

TriflingToad,

still need to get around to beating doom 2. It just got so repetitive I had to take a break

TriflingToad,

hell yeah kenshi mentioned. Honestly the game feels like ‘slop’, but is fun as hell also in an old-school RuneScape type of way

excited for the 2nd game on unreal engine (but small dev team, might take couple more years)

TriflingToad,

This one’s pretty controversial, but if you’ve never played it before,

Half Life 1

It’s really confusing and enemies will pop out of nowhere and kill you instantly. Not really fun imo, but then again I AM playing it for the first time 27 years after it came out 😂

I’m sure Black Mesa is more intuitive though.

TriflingToad,

past the first few chapters it got a bit confusing, but the train trolly thing was like a maze and I kept going in circles for so long 😵‍💫

TriflingToad,

Love this post style, you did a lot of work!

also man that selaco box is so pretty. There’s something about hoarding pretty little boxes that I just want to do.

Analog Retro Gaming: Water Toss angielski

80s and 90s kids will remember this, and it’s making a comeback as a novelty item. No storyline, no visual and auditory stimuli, just a simple challenge to hook all the rings in the posts (extra points for achieving color patterns), so it’s up to your imagination to fill in the rest. Real randomness, too, not subject to some...

TriflingToad,

you should post the trailer for Rogue Core (next DRG game) also, I would but im lazy rn

TriflingToad,

smh, all because of that greedy rockstar CEO

What are some old games that are hard to revisit, because a more modern and superior version exists? angielski

I tried playing Harvest Moon on the SNES today and having played Stardew Valley for hours, I thought I'd try and see how tolerable the original Harvest Moon was in comparison. I know and understand it is unfair because there's a 20 year gap between Harvest Moon and Stardew Valley, while also discrediting Harvest Moon's later...

TriflingToad,

re-released duology is objectively superior

do you mean the “doom 1 + doom 2” on steam? because if so, oh boy are you gonna love gzdoom
zdoom.org/downloads

TriflingToad,

I agree. Doom 1 and doom 2 are like exactly the same fun level as Doom Eternal, just in a different way.
Tbh I didn’t like “Doom (2016)” that much. I’m sure when it came out it was amazing considering doom 3 was the most recent thing, but I played Doom Eternal first and compared to the FUN of eternal, it just doesn’t stand up to the “rip that guy in half then latch on that demon with a flaming chain on my double barreled shotgun so I can use a Lazer balista to shoot that other demons head off while in midair to go chainsaw the flying meatballs eyesocket” of Doom Eternal

TriflingToad,

just a reminder that you live in a different culture than the average video game player. I haven’t even completed GTA5 and aren’t in the circle of GTA players. Hell, the funnest part for me is driving in a really big circle while listening to music, but as out of touch as I am, I know it’s really REALLY hyped

TriflingToad,

meh, I don’t think that the reason AAA games are bad is because they cost less. I think it’s just greed and rushing the developers.

TriflingToad,

controversial take, but I hope they do delay it. Better a good game late than a bad game early. As big as this release is, it HAS to be good.

TriflingToad,

oh, in that case yeah that’s fair, I agree

TriflingToad,

So that has been fixed for over a decade.

they fixed that, but if you are connected to WiFi that blocks steam it will refuse to launch your games even after you disconnect from the WiFi. I think this is to prevent piracy I guess??

I needed a software that I bought on steam for schoolwork and I couldn’t use it because steam was having a panic attack over my schools wifi. Inst of preventing piracy I went and pirated the software to not have that issue LOL

TriflingToad,

you need 2 spaces and 2 enters after the first line to make it separate from the quote:

sjeuwjeb78

2djwu2hw8duj

(yeah I know, formatting is really dumb)

TriflingToad,

I mean… ai Minecraft already exists

TriflingToad, (edited )

sounds like a good time to use my mom’s now unused switch and buy a used Mario Maker 2 cartridge. Been watching YouTube videos about it and kinda wanna try.

Ok so I tried to go onto the Facebook website to use Facebook marketplace to get a cartridge but apparently it got hacked somehow because it’s my email, but it’s not my name and it got banned in October LMAO
Id have to upload photo proof of my face, so guess I’ll just keep not using Facebook.

Looks like they’re ~30 bucks on eBay though.

TriflingToad,

I looked into that. I’m wanting to play online levels and there’s no way as far as I know to do that with emulation :/
I appreciate the recommendation though :)

Longtime buddy of mine just got a gaming PC. What games would make up a good "welcome to PC" care package? angielski

The issue is that I think there are Steam bundles that can’t be gifted, such as the Valve pack and that kind of thing. That also makes something like Civ 6 less likely, just because of the DLC bundles. I can also use Fanatical or Humble but frankly the region thing might be an issue....

TriflingToad,

Looks amazing! I’m excited to try it in the future :)

However I did encounter an issue trying to apply for beta access:
On the application page where you type in all the words using Firefox on Mobile I was able to switch the tab to a different one, but was unable to switch it back without force closing and reopening the browser. I’ve never had this issue with any other website so I doubt it’s an issue with the browser itself (however is still definitely possible).

It did work on my 2nd attempt, but I figured I should let you know incase there’s anything you could do about it for the extremely small percentage of Firefox mobile users lol

TriflingToad,

I’m using the Android that came with my device using a Pixel 8, thanks for the reply and if there’s any information that would help let me know :)

TriflingToad,

I like how they gave Lena Raine credit for specifically Celeste 64, the 8bit minigame INSIDE of the game, instead of the game itself lol

TriflingToad,

I don’t understand the hate for women in video games, If the next Doom game comes out with a female protagonist I’d be going “HELL YEAH RIP ITS HEAD OFF!!!” the same way I do in Doom Eternal

TriflingToad, (edited )

good ol Minecraft
or the old versions anyways

Why are $70 AAA games slashing prices so drastically? (lemmy.world) angielski

It’s beyond insane to me that a $70 “AAAA” game (kidding, it’s AAA) dips down to the absurd price of $5. I’ve never seen anything like it. Wish the entire Sims 4 “collection” if you can call it that was $5 total, would be incredible, or Starfield.

TriflingToad,

but 80% is a lot more than the usual 10-20%

Game evoking Oct. 7 Hamas attack pulled after police appeal, creator says (www.aljazeera.com)

Fursan al-Aqsa: The Knights of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, released in 2022, lets gamers play as the fictional character “Ahmad al-Falastini,” a young Palestinian student, as he takes revenge on Israeli soldiers who tortured him and killed his family. An updated version of the game called Operation al-Aqsa Flood, the name Hamas uses...

TriflingToad,

Here’s a link to the game, self proclaimed “Most BASED game of all times!!!” and is Overwhelmingly Positive. Only $5 rn too
…steampowered.com/…/Fursan_alAqsa_The_Knights_of_…

TriflingToad,

THAT WAS UNEXPECTED

TriflingToad,

I know this is probably isn’t true but it’s my head cannon that they’re just really afraid to put out a “state of the game [month]” posts without anything in it
