All Rockstar Games ever have been pushed back by months or years. They have all had monolithic levels of crunch. People not working in the office is definitely not to blame. Particularly if they were hired as offside, which the article claims.
I mean, it is pretty amazing. It’s funny if they’re ironic upvotes and it’s wild if they’re upvotes of agreement because it is complete misinformation.
Yeah EA has lots of bad rep and yeah they made a couple of games in the series. But the game the article is about, as well as the original game it is remaking were nothing to do with EA.
It does, and that might be a nice experience, but I feel like the one player/two sticks mechanic was kind of the main point of it.
I don’t feel like the game would have had the same impact on me, if I co-oped it like I did with It Takes Two (which was designed as a co-op experience).
A weird one that I’ve not seen mentioned: the intro to Battlefield 1. It is really well crafted and was emotional in a way I’ve never felt from a war FPS.
The multiple unavoidable deaths and brief epitaph shown on screen, before hot swapping to the next soldier felt poignant. Really hit me with the pointlessness and futility of WWI, the plight of the common soldier and the sheer scale of death.
I see a lot of covid misinformation going on around this story which is extremely worrying. Just because the human race not currently at risk of imminent extinction from it doesn’t mean it’s not still a serious illness. Some people get long term complications from it. Some people are extra vulnerable to it. Some people are still dying from it.
“Just get the vaccine” is the worst kind of uninformed handwaving response to the concerns and worries of other humans, it’s upsetting it is becoming the norm.
While Take-Two is riding high on their announcement that a GTA 6 trailer is coming, its CEO has some…interesting ideas on how much video games could cost, part of a contingent of executives that believe games are underpriced, given their cost, length or some combination of the two.
The Unity Runtime Fee is scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2024, and it's been universally panned by developers on social media since its announcement earlier today....
I would have played so many less games in my youth if I weren’t able to trade discs with friends. I would have missed Vice City, Morrowind and Final Fantasy VII to name a few memorable ones.
For me it’s probably Jazzpunk, but I liked Disco Elysium too. I’ve been looking for something to scratch that “Jazzpunk surrealist comedy itch” for a while and not many games have come even close.
Not single player/story funny, but I don’t think I’ve absolutely lost it to any game (possibly even any thing) more than Gang Beasts. Get 8 friends together for a rumble and cry laughs will be had.
One time back when we were living in an apartment with an inward courtyard facing window, my wife and I were laughing so hard a neighbour threw something at our window to get our attention so they could shout at us to keep it down. It was only 10pm on a Saturday :/
I see a lot of comparisons to steam deck but none to Xbox.
You can literally use any phone or tablet for the same function as this with an Xbox, in addition to cloud streaming most game pass games without needing an Xbox at all.
If we saw Microsoft releasing an identical device I bet there wouldn’t be a single person defending it.
I’ve been thinking about the PS1 game ‘Driver’ a lot recently. It’s a game I spent a lot of time on during my youth, and whilst I’m sure it doesn’t hold up some 20 years later, it was still a highlight from my ‘gaming youth’....
This was such a good game because the sea stuff was definitely more interesting than the assassins creedy stuff. Letting the men finish their sea shanty before getting into something was always a personal pleasure!
I never got anywhere near finishing the story due to this. Its a beautifully relaxing game if you just drink it all in and immerse yourself. I’m a big fan of the daily routine at the camp and if I don’t make it back one night, spend the return catching up with everyone and doing some chores.
