CraigeryTheKid,

Big oof, long listed game for me and now dead before arrival.

Luckily I picked up FF14 already.

Long Dark dev criticises Manor Lords for lack of updates, Hooded Horse CEO replies that not every game needs to be "some live-service boom or bust" (www.rockpapershotgun.com)

Interesting thoughts about how to define success for video games in today’s market, particularly for those using early access. Lots of respect for Hooded Horse’s CEO, Tim Bender, he says all the right things and seems genuine....

CraigeryTheKid,

*70% - don’t forget Steam’s cut! There’s basically nothing left after that.

/s just in case not obvious

CraigeryTheKid,

Not to go down a rabbit hole that’s off topic, but I’m generally not offended by Steam’s cut. The platform, advertising, centralizing, hosting, and cloud saves, etc etc, seem like a major benefit, especially for smaller developers, that would allow them to get to market faster, and with a much larger audience.

CraigeryTheKid, (edited )

Still hope it releases in NA soon, unless they plan to do a realm reborn type move I guess.

Edit: back from reading article. “Big update” is rolling out this month, and looks like the 1-year delay from Japan to global will benefit everyone getting the game later this year.

CraigeryTheKid,

I only had time for 15 min, but I sure hope there’s more to it then walking and watching short clips. There’s more once I get past the “opening”, right?

I did play, and enjoy, journey.

CraigeryTheKid,

That’s what I’m doing for starfield, and even a game like BG3. Wait until it’s been a year of patches, etc.

CraigeryTheKid,

holy cow… no kidding! Hype was only building - and then to “reveal” the enshitification before it even enjoys release interest. wow.

CraigeryTheKid,

Then… Why have them real purchaseable at all, esp at launch?! Full price, single player game; makes absolutely no reasonable sense.

CraigeryTheKid,

Basically the campaign is fun enough to do

CraigeryTheKid,

Just tried playing this on windows PC, legit windows, legit GamePass, and it crashes every 5-15 seconds. Very vanilla/normal install and config of all hardware, etc. Maybe the steam version works better?

CraigeryTheKid,

I played it a few months ago, before 1.0, and honestly the difficulty pushes me away.

I expected for it to get harder over time, yes, but coming straight out of the tutorial I couldn’t “succeed” on the first real game. Pretty sure I had everything on easy too. Maybe it was the second game, either way.

CraigeryTheKid,

I just powered through outer worlds in a couple of weeks, and loved every bit of it. Also look forward to avowed!

CraigeryTheKid,

Wow, I consider a game “personally great” if I like it enough to completely finish once.

Here's what a random person on the internet thought of The Outer Worlds (lemmy.world) angielski

I played the Steam version of the base game, with no DLC. I did not play the Spacer’s Choice “remaster” as it has a reputation for being broken and poorly put together. I played the game to completion on normal difficulty, completing most of the side quests, spending time with all my companions, and trying to get the most...

CraigeryTheKid,

I’m 49 hrs into my first play, about to start final mission.

I absolutely love this game. I can’t remember when I last was so invested in what a game was giving me.

CraigeryTheKid,

I finished the story, quite liked it, thought it was great.

But THEN I join you where it just died and got so boring after. I had no problem “grinding” in D3, so what’s different? They somehow managed to make the core of the core game not worth doing.

CraigeryTheKid,

Sorry, to clarify, after you mention NMS, all those funs/positives were about Starfield again, right?

CraigeryTheKid,

It was genuine! I’m also trying to gauge which to play next with the little time I have!

The other one in the mix is The Outer Worlds, which also looks like “Skyrim in space”, even though it doesn’t get as many mentions.

CraigeryTheKid,

The body cannot live without the mind.
