I have no idea what woke even means anymore. It seems to mean “social awareness”. Black lives matters kind of a thing. Equal rights for trans people too of course. That doesn’t mean that everyone should support games being forced into having all genders, or races, or include trans people. Or all books or movies should be forced to have those things.

If you create something, it’s up to you how you want that to be. You are the artist.

This is not equal to hating trans people, and anyone with some iq points realizes this. We can’t turn every creation into a vehicle for trans rights.

It’s part of an effort to normalize seeing it. I think it’s probably good, but it’s just a bit unrealistic sometimes and feels very forced. ':)

I think I’m on the other side - I think it’s way too much woke agenda in a lot of popular TV shows we watch. Disney competely wrecked a lot of shows because they kept pushing in gender/race related things that felt competely out of place.

I couldn’t even watch the acolyte. They wrecked it competely. Many web pages have described what’s wrong with it so won’t repeat that here, but hopefully you already know what I mean.

I have no idea. I don’t read about games very much and don’t follow what’s happening. I guess games are like movies, we like to identify with the characters to feel the game is good. Sometimes it’s hard if they are very different from us, and then the movie / game is very boring or even annoying.

I think gaming in general have it hard now. There are millions of games and only a handful are best sellers.

I feel the same about movies. So many, but just a few are worth watching because they are original.

I don’t think it will be as good as the first one. That game had a unique feeling. I spent many hours trying to beat the big storm and had tons of fun. Played it over and over again many times until I finally understood how to get through the storm.

I hope this one is also difficult and rewarding, but I doubt it will be as good as the first one, now that we expect so much from it.

This is technical but you could set up a wireguard vpn server and let your friends connect to your computer. Then you all look like you are sitting in your home network from the steam servers point of view.

Or just install Tailscale which makes it even easier and is free for like 3 computers.

Your friends will have a bit of lag though since all their connections have to go through your computer to the steam network. But I believe it may not be noticeable.

I wish I could get into no man’s sky but it just bores me. Similar to everyone else who don’t like it, I quickly got tired of everything being so similar everywhere. But I guess it’s good for people who like seeing random animals.

I would like to understand how they infer these things without becoming a science major. Is it just math equations based on what they think is the distance to the planet and then more math based on what they think the atmosphere is, and so on? Because they can’t actually see the planet.

I stopped watching in the first episode when the tiny girl beat up a muscular huge man.

Felt like avengers but she is supposed to be a normal girl right? I felt it was so dumb.

I removed the smiley since I didn’t intend it to be condescending. But I’m 100% certain that guy would knock that girl out in a second. It wasn’t just “a man”, it was a fit fighter man with tons of muscles.

But like I said, if it’s a game, there is no real physics so anything is possible.

Yeah makes sense. I don’t know the backstory at all so in that light, it makes sense. Guess they wanted to cast some sexy actor rather than someone who looks the part.

I don’t see why it’s suddenly the best space game… The core mechanic seems to be the same as the original. Mine materials that are the same on every planet, so you can build space ships and better miners that take more materials and do it over and over again.

When I was playing on launch day, I had a really good first impression but it turned into disappointment, since all the planets had the same minerals. May as well stay on the first planet forever.

I agree, they did the right thing and much more. But the game still doesn’t feel very fun. It’s missing a reason to do things beyond just exploration and seeing new randomly generated animals and colors.

I was hoping for it to have some Elite qualities where you would travel with rare cargo to make money, but it doesn’t even have any rare cargo or any demand for unique minerals on planets…

It’s not fun, which is the main problem. The devs have built a universe to explore but hasn’t accounted for that humans don’t think different shapes and colors are very interesting when it’s the same otherwise.
