@arratoon I usually go around 90rpm, but indoor cycling is so mundane, I find it more and more difficult to motivate myself to do it… So, cadence reflects my passion for it…🤣 @cycling @rower

Whether or not disc brakes are “better” than rim brakes, disc brakes definitely require less skill to use effectively in more conditions.

@feld Well, IMO this article is just biased. My wallet cried every time cork pads bit into the carbon rim. I have a set of aluminium wheels not fit for riding after just 3 winters due to the brake wear… Disc brakes and DB wheels ale less affected by the rain and mud. Never gonna buy rim brake bicycle again… @tk @cycling @mastobikes

@feld Every time I get from a disc brake gravel to carbon rim road bike I feel like I have no brakes. Sure, DB can be noisy when dirty, but never ever had to doubt the stopping power or reliability. But ultimately, for me it’s more important in terms of the parts longevity, especially as expensive as wheels can be. The idea of brake pads chewing on the structural part of wheel just makes me straight scared, especially on steep downhills… @cycling @mastobikes

@raucao I have a set of alloy rims that went at least through 3 winters and are pretty chewed up. My point would be it’s eating up on the structural part of the wheel and not on a replaceable, cheap metal disc… Does matter with more expensive sets of wheels… @tk @cycling @mastobikes

@robertmx Probably because winter where I live lasts for maybe 2-3 months and they look like that after 13kkm in total (including nice weather). That’s not confidence inspiring. For comparison, my carbon wheels did a lot more but mostly in nice and dry conditions and still look spot-on. So IMHO it is chewed up for how much those actually did.

I still use and love that bike (it’s been around 8 years), but the next one will be disc and electronic shifting…🙈🤷🏻‍♂️

@jond That is actually Mavic and I just measured it with the vernier. It lands somewhere around half a milimetre. It’s an analog tool, but it’s very near… I mean, no one is forcing anyone to go disc brakes… Stick with the bicycle you like. But for me, having an expensive wheel set in a pretty bad weather - it’s just such a waste of money with rim brakes. DB do plenty for wheels longevity… @robertmx @cycling @mastobikes

Evening was in order to ramp it up to 400km this week. Decided to push it a bit more and I’m surprised I still have some legs. Averaged over 200W in an hour (I’m 64kg) and it wasn’t even that hard…🤷🏻‍♂️ @cycling @rower

Niespodziewanie trafiło mi się trochę gotówki i chcę ją wykorzystać na nowe buty rowerowe. Poprzednie (Shimano XC31) mają zrobione jakieś 35-37 tysięcy kilometrów i to już niestety widać. Bardzo widać.

Poprzednie były z górskiej linii Shimano XC, więc tu zacząłem się przyglądać. Najprostszy model XC100 jest bardzo podobny do moich obecnych butów, ale stopień wyższe XC300 są dużo bardziej seksowne.

Zastanawiam się jednak, czy nie przyszła pora na coś bardziej „cywilnego”, z mniej agresywnym bieżnikiem. W tej kategorii budżetowe MT502 wydają się spoko, chociaż nie do końca przekonuje mnie to sznurowadło.

A najbardziej kuszą mnie buty z wyprawowej linii Shimano, EX7. Wyglądają zajebiście, a bieżnik i sztywność mają delikatniejsze niż stare buty. Tylko, cholera jasna, sześć stów? Trochę boli...

Macie któreś z tych butów? Polecacie/odradzacie?

@LukaszHorodecki Odradzam XC3. Przy 130km bolały mnie stopy. Odpoczywałem w toskańskiej wiosce ze zdjętymi butami i podszedł do mnie gościu, trzymając w ręce dokładnie ten sam model i bolało go dokładnie tak samo… Mi bardzo pasuje Fizik! Na zimę i błotko mam Terra Clima X2, na ładną pogodę X3 Overcurve SPD. Na szosę Shimano RC7 dają super radę… Wiem, że to wszystko dość drogie buty, ale z tanimi miałem kiepskie doświadczenia… @rower

@LukaszHorodecki Nic z tych rzeczy. Rozmiarowo były doskonale, tylko przy dłuższej jeździe bolały mnie stopy od spodu, tam gdzie są bloki…. Zdaje się, że to przez dość miękką podeszwę, a jazda to był hardcore bo było 40°C w cieniu, 70km całej trasy to był gravel i ponad 2000m podjazdów… @rower

@LukaszHorodecki Tzn nie oceniam ich po jednej jeździe, bo to nie był jedyny raz. Ale ta konkretna to był horror. Bolało tak, że momentami nie szło wytrzymać, stąd ta przerwa bez butów… @rower

@bobiko Ja nie usprawiedliwiam pod żadnym względem tego kierowcy, ale też nie rozumiem dlaczego gość jechał środkiem drogi, nawet nie środkiem pasa… Ja lubię jeździć po mieście i często, jeśli muszę to zajmuję pas (np. na skrzyżowaniach), ale bez przesady…🤡 @rower

@theridgebikedaily Od początku nie kwestionowałem winy kierowcy autobusu. Jeżdżę jednak cały rok, połowę czasu po nocach i dla własnego bezpieczeństwa nie zachowałbym się tak jak koleś jadący prawie środkiem drogi po przerywanej linii… Tym bardziej, że widać, że można było inaczej… Idiotów na drogach jest pełno, a moja w tym głowa jako uczestnika ruchu, żeby nie dać im się wykazać… @emill1984 @bobiko @rower

@arratoon Sounds complicated but still quite acceptable… If I start in a jersey it’s soaking wet in 5 minutes… Everything has its pros and cons…🤷🏻‍♂️ I’d have to invest in a better fan… Wahoo Headwind looks nice but practicality calls for something more “multipurpose”…@cycling

@viq To że ja się boję przypinać rower na mieście nie oznacza, że polecam to innym. Zresztą nie jeżdżę już po mieście na rowerze w celach transportowych… Mam wszystko tak blisko, że chodzę…🤡 Rower jest codziennie, ale jako sport🤷🏻‍♂️ @czach @hq1 @rower
