It would be nice is someone built a spin gravity space station with lunar and martian levels. We could see how people fare after several months in that environment before setting off to build permanent bases.
It is neither science fiction, nor a movie (in the fiction sense). It is a documentary, and as for the science fiction, it isn’t present, and not in the same way that it isn’t present in some of the other movies.
It isn’t there because it was not the intention to make a science fiction movie.
What the bleep do we know was meant as non fiction. You were meant to take it seriously, as usable information.
None of it is actually real, though, and it is filled with pseudoscience. But at its core, it is meant to be watched just like a any other documentary, not as a movie.
Johnny Mnemonic takes place in a world where Transnational Megacorps are the real power. Nations, being physical are limited and so are owned by or overridden and controlled by transnationals.
So Disney, a medium empire with control of IP and influence making a version of Johnny Mnemonic would be ironic.

“Star Bird” — A space ship that made noises when you changed its pitch. It could be put together into a couple of different configurations. It wasn’t tied to any tv show, movie, or comic book.
Micronauts — a time traveling group of futuristic translucent android action figures that had cool vehicles and accessories you could reconfigure like Lego. Some of these floated on water, others had shootable rubber-tipped missiles, and some could be put together to make giant robots. The best set to me was the one I couldn’t afford, but that a friend had. A Logan’s Run style tube train set propelled using a vacuum pump. There later was a comic book series that tried to explain their backstory.
ROM — a silver robot doll with red led eyes that made different noises depending on which of his accessories you attached. Also later had a comic book series that tried to explain it all.
