This isn’t going to be fixed. It would take too much work to actually fix it. Maybe they have enough time before April 4, but that is extensive reshooting. They’d pretty much have to trash all of the video and keep just the audio probably.
From the trailers it even looks like the story is gonna be super linear and boring. At that point they’d need to rewrite the whole thing. Even the most ambitious studio is gonna have a hard time committing to that.
I‘m somewhat sure the person who made the trailer will make a version of the film out of pure spite that works exactly like this and its going to be the best thing ever, maybe even shaking the movie industry.
Seems like a bit of a reach in wishful thinking lol
Nobody is going to spend that time on a ‘fixed’ version of the movie, let alone have access to everything needed to even do this. It’s more likely that someone will make a fan-made movie with audio from the original.
ContractVille is a pretty similar game except it’s also open world and coop. It has its fair share of performance issues and bugs though, especially when you’re playing coop as a non host.
It’s worth noting that the link he provided is a decent overview, but it’s also really outdated as far as the decompilation community goes. If you’re at all interested in getting involved, and not just mildly curious about the high level stuff, most people start with one of two discords. One for decomp.me and the is the N64 decompilation discord.
Which, to be fair, is also derived from a word which would be most accurately (with English vowels) pronounced as mah-nuh. Although at this point “manna” is definitively also a word of English whose correct pronunciation is with /æ/.
The turn-based with real-time elements reminds me of Sea of Stars and Shadow Hearts, which are both excellent titles in my mind for this game to associate itself with. Looks really flashy too with the menu, camera movement, and slowdown effects (hopefully that wouldn’t get old with too much repetition).
