Sounds a bit like my partner, who doesn’t like most action games. For a game you could play together, I think you could try a “creature collector” type game, like pokemon. There are actually a lot of creature collectors, pokemon is just the most popular, but there are cheap digital games on the switch store that are made by Pokemon fans and from what I can tell are better in a lot of ways.
You can also emulate all of the old console games for free, that’s what my partner did for a bunch of Pokemon titles.
Animal Crossing sorta has 2p mode. The second player can’t walk too far from the main player and has more limited gameplay options, but it can be fun to run around and fish together.
I didn’t know animal crossing had local coop, they mentioned being open to animal crossing specifically today, so maybe I’ll pick it up. I haven’t played an animal crossing game since the one on the DS, I could be down to be their player 2 on it.
Every player on the same switch plays on the same island. Only one player can actually play at a time, but another can join on a separate controller and act as a sort of sidekick that can fish and pick vegetables and such. My husband and I like to split of the gardening across the island then take turns helping each other with our respective sections.
Dying Light 1 is awesome to play HUDless, but you have to learn the controls beforehand, and you have to enable the HUD again for a certain bossfight, or just memorize the keypresses for it from a walkthrough.
There is no problem involving valve games that can’t be solved by not playing valve games. Seriously, I quit a long time ago and my mental health has soared from not being around those borderline neo-nazi gamers all the time. Fuck valve for harboring fascists within their platform.
I doubt that, I mean show me a proper working anti cheat which isn’t deeply rooted into the system as this Valorant bullshit? Don’t even know how good that one is actually working. I just think there should be more focus from players and general attention that cheaters are bad for sales, because people don’t want to spend money on games where cheaters are free to prevail.
I also think with CS2 Valve has a big motivating factor to make this classic one which is cheater free. Also why aren’t third party games able to use VAC?
I really like the community driven moderation of playerbase is a good suggestion. For games like Hunt: Showdown and any other game with just lobbies, its not working though.
Bought Hogwarts Legacy a week or so on a deep discount and I’m enjoying the hell of it. During december I traditionally watch the Harry Potter movies so now I expanded to the game. So far it might be my game of the year since I didn’t try Baldur’s gate 3 yet, I’ll pick that one up on a sale later on. I’m taking my time and explore every nook and cranny in the game. I was hyped for Diablo 4 as a long time devotee but in it’s current form it’s simply not fun and needs quire a rework for me to pick it up sadly. The atmosphere, visuals, music, even combat is spot on but it lost way too much on other fronts. Starfield is another game which I put on hold as I simply didn’t continue the game at some point, will probably resume it after a few more patches.
