Was there airship update to create already or is it still in development?

MyNameIsAtticus,
@MyNameIsAtticus@lemmy.world avatar

I wasn’t even aware Create was getting an Airship update. The one i built is from Eureka, which is an addon for Valkyrien Skies. I have a addon that adds Create support to Valkyrien Skies though

Create: Aeronautics was its name. It looks like it’s stuck in some sort of development hell and big hype around it. Recent Dev “update”: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGQXUiNuUws

Damn, i’ll have to watch this because having a dedicated Create mod for Airships would be awesome. Eureka is a bit too simple for my taste, but it’s also the only option i have

I finished DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal. Eternal is definitely the better of the two for me, maybe even my favorite in the whole series.

Eternal’s campaign was pretty easy this time, since I actually used all of the tools the game gives you. Some of the Master Levels were harder though, especially Taras Nabad. Two fights in that level took me an hour each on Ultra-Violence.

Now I’ll play the DLC for the first time.

The game is Prison Architect if anyone is wondering

Edit: nevermind it’s stated in the description but I didn’t see it

I started South of Midnight. I'm liking it so far, especially the animation style and the jazzy soundtrack. It has some major Alice in Wonderland vibes. Although it is a little jarring playing a straight forward narrative after all the open world games I've been going through the last couple months.

savvywolf, do gaming w Why doesn't Steam support Android?
@savvywolf@pawb.social avatar

The mobile and PC gaming markets are very different, both in terms of monetisation and what games people expect to play.

If Valve wanted to get into the mobile games industry they’d basically be starting from scratch, and I don’t think it’s a market they’re particularly interested in.

You’re also assuming that buying a game on PC steam will also give you a license to play that game on android, which isn’t a given. I think many games have completely different monetisation models on mobile vs pc, so sharing between platforms like that wouldn’t make sense.

It wasn’t an assumption it was hypothetical.

Want to be elitist… but one time when I was a kid I started tossing all my empty water bottles in the closet. Cut to 3 months later and there’s 200+ spilling out 🙃

Never again.

abominablecosmonaut44, do gaming w Oblivion "remastered"

I’m still excited for it.

What are you guys even complaining about here? The color pallette? Really?

StarvingMartist,

Never said I wasn’t excited friend, I would love to have another romp through my childhood. I complain because I love this game, and would like to see it how I remember. If it comes out with the brown filter over it, it’s whatever, it’s oblivion it will get modded back.

But I daresay there’s much worse things we could be doing online than griping about an old favorite, harmless fun I’d say.

De_Narm, (edited ) do games w Useless rant about Witcher 3 romance

Earlier this year, I was in a similar predicament. I actually told Triss that I loved her. However, that only works if you take advantage of her while she’s drunk at the party. (She falls down while drunk and after you catch her, you can randomly kiss her.) I didn’t and locked myself out of romancing her early.

I would have lost many hours of progress by going back and frankly, I didn’t want to go for that choice. I cut my losses and went with Yen. Since then, I finished the whole game, DLCs included, and I don’t regret my choice. She gets a lot better later on and I came to appreciate her. Her quests are good. I just think the game does a poor job introducing her. I don’t care for either the books or the show and I’ve only played Witcher 2 once on release. With my first playthrough of Witcher 3 only starting last year, I knew literally nothing going in. Up until I could romance Triss, Yen was annoying and arrogant.

Lojcs,

Oof I forgot that she was drunk in the party

Commander Shepard tried for both Liara and Ashley at the same time.

Lojcs,

Didn’t play that one yet but I did read that in w3 if you try both you fail both but I already failed Triss so…

johnnyb,

trying and failing both promts a Hilarius ending though :D

Any sort of sequel to the Tribes series. Talk about a franchise that had, at one point, a massive amount of potential that was completely squandered!

It has momentum (the franchise, not just the gameplay mechanic. Lol) and the visuals and world lended itself to be turned into something with great storytelling of they really wanted to make it into a story as well. Plus, it was fun a hell!

Ascend is technically still online, but any sequel that gets “announced” every one in a while is a lost cause from the start

BULAJI, do games w Does the 2 hour refund limit on Steam affect game design?

So, do you think two hours is too short?

teft,
@teft@lemmy.world avatar

It can be for some games. For others it’s too long.

BULAJI,

Therefore, there is no perfect solution. Before Trump imposes additional tariffs on Steam, the best way is to maintain the status quo.

TyrianMollusk,
@TyrianMollusk@lemm.ee avatar

It’s too short for most games I play, because they backload their interest and gameplay excessively. The first two hours are generally the worst example of the actual game. Frustrates me that devs don’t have the sense to make a demo that showcases the game instead of either nothing or just the beginning, but if a dev does the beginning and lets you carry your save into the full game, you can use the demo as intro and then buy with two more hours to put it through its paces (or already know you won’t need to refund). Still not a smart way to sell your game when the early game is worse and a more focused demo would more effectively and efficiently engage potential players who don’t want to sink time into every demo, but it’s a compromise solution for people who will spend time with the demo and not wander away without buying into the game if they had a good time.

Also, anything with a character creator or other such lengthy setup to get playing just doesn’t work with only two hours of running time as the window.

The cancelled suite of Alternate Reality games.

Krudler,

Omfg…

Yesssssss. Our entire family loved The Dungeon so much. My father wrote a letter to the developers and got a response, with excited descriptions of upcoming games in the series that never came to be. The producer or developer, or whoever wrote him back was bragging about how the next game would have characters you could actually see while in combat! (E: referring to The Arena)

jerkface,
@jerkface@lemmy.ca avatar

The Dungeon already sort of gave up on the original design. Philip Price wrote The City and the extension mechanism that things were supposed to plug into, but The Dungeon didn’t use any of it. So it was a one-way trip… Except you couldn’t actually transfer characters, it was broken. :-/

Krudler,

I went back and played The Dungeon about 15 years ago and I just about cried because it was so fucking bad by modern standards lol
