The spinning barrel at the end can be solved by jumping on it and holding Up or Down to match the direction of the barrel. It will make the bounce distance enormous enough to hop off on the down swing.
For example, you jump on the barrel and it naturally goes down, so you hold down. It will go down 20 pixels. As it starts to go back up, you hold up (no need to jump or anything) and it will go up 40 pixels. On the way down you hold down and it will go down 80 pixels. Repeat until the bounce goes so far down you hop off below with ease.
The numbers are made up, but the process is correct.
Doesn’t help the wheel doesn’t seem to take inputs until the player first jumps on it to get it moving. "<.<
Also, I didn’t get to test it, but with how much the player can actually move the wheel, I wouldn’t find far fetched to think the player can get crushed by the ceiling too.
Ah, yes, that infamous barrel. Claims many a hedgehog’s life due to timing out. I did actually manage once or twice as a kid to get under it through fast and clever jumping, until I only learned in adulthood that you’re supposed to move the D-pad up and down to control it. Really doesn’t help that the game doesn’t show you before how to control a barrel like that, and that stage can push players to the edge of danger timewise with or without that barrel.
I imagine as kids we eventually got through it on accident. Like out of frustration we mashed the down button to make our jump land harder and it actually worked xD
I get why you might be thinking this. If you’re on PC, I suggest modding the game. Im playing though my 2nd play through. Played through to PL and then only recently decided to play with modding and it’s a game changer. Now playing the PL part of the game and already thinking about a 3rd play through. The mods I have make it feel like a remaster. If you want I’ll list out the key mods (just let me know).
I think you can actually. If you’ve already completed the game there’s a mod that allows you to start a new game plus. You keep all your stats points and gear, and I think you can have it start as if the story is complete so you can just explore the world again and do all the side stuff. I’m not 100% sure but there are loads of YT vids that cover it. Just look for cyberpunk new game plus mod.
Bonanza Bros, Blast Corps, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Vampire: The Masquerade -Bloodlines, Cruisn World, LEGO Battles, NBA Jam
Bonanza Bros would be a great couch co-op multiplayer game in a world where we need more. It would benefit from some gameplay tweaks, and adding online play and 4 players would be big.
Blast Corps was awesome, I found it to be an extremely underrated Rare game. This game in an engine with simulated rubble and crazy explosions would be a gem. I also think changing the camera to first person should be an option at the very least.
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days got its cutscenes remastered. I want the full game. It was dripping in atmosphere, and I loved the premise of scouting the new worlds. The graphics could use an upgrade, and the combat could be brought up to par with KH2. But, I love the leveling system and think it would barely need touching.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines is awesome and not super long. It’s extremely buggy, but luckily there’s a modder named Wesp5 who has spend YEARS creating an Unofficial Patch, to a point where all the cut content is restored and it’s essentially feature-complete. There’s a version that just patches the game, and a restored content version. I think he should be given a team and be allowed to curate content and rebalance cut mechanics for a remake. It would be magical.
Cruisn World is one of my favorite arcade racers ever. It has untouchable vibes, and I’d just like to see that with a nice sheen over it, maybe more levels and vehicles?
LEGO Battles is an RTS for the Nintendo DS. Put it on PC, nuff said.
NBA Jam is not very niche. I want a remake, and I don’t care if it’s up-to-date. It’s the best sports game period.
