Reygle, do games w Xbox 360 superfan amasses all 1,353 North American discs after two‑decade collection spree
@Reygle@lemmy.world avatar

Congratulations to them on their enormous collection of largely valueless media that degrades beyond usefulness with age

yermaw,

Whats even more stupid is that in less than 100 years he’ll be dead anyway making the whole endeavour absolutely futile.

What a fool.

PieMePlenty,

Indeed. Why even live if you’re gonna die anyway.

If Sony is doing it too, it’s the retail market that’s not showing results. Thinking most people order consoles online or from electronic stores.

MightyCuriosity, do games w EA reportedly shelves Need For Speed completely to focus on other projects

I think undercover was the last true NFS. Fast cars. High speed feeling. Tuning. Cops. Over the top grippy handling at times. Then it turned into cow dung with occasional decent ones but they never got the sense of speed or the fun worlds right for me again.

Oh, finally? It only took them a hundred years.

UnfortunateShort, do games w Ubisoft EULA demanding consumers destroy delisted games adds fuel to Stop Killing Games movement

I know everyone loves to hate Ubisoft, but this is quite the common term. Also it only even applies when the agreement is terminated, I don’t even know how that would look like. I have never heard about a usage agreement being terminated, unless you yourself violate it (e.g. get banned for cheating).

We should destroy the gaming industry all together! We can make our own games!

I feel like I’ve seen this before, but I can’t quite put my finger on it…

Everytime i get slightly excited for new PC handheld i remember my Steam deck Windows experience and lose all interest.

GBU_28,

You installed filthy windows on the pure deck?

This is in line with what I’m seeing locally. Weird they aren’t doing a fire sale like Sam’s Club:

commander,

I thought about getting a Sam’s Club membership to look for a Series X as another cheap UHD Blu-ray player. They’ve got to be gone by now at my local one

invertedspear,

Instead of getting a membership, get a gift card. I don’t think a membership is required to spend a gift card.

tal, do games w New Windows gamepad keyboard will soon make typing on Legion Go, Asus ROG Ally more like the Steam Deck

There are probably some games that this would work well for, but I’m not sure that it’d be a great replacement the way a physical thumb keyboard is for texting or the like.

Most present-day games that I can think of that I play use the keyboard as a grid of buttons. They expect to have your hand over the thing – often the left hand, with the right on the mouse – to let you be able to push multiple buttons quickly.

I’m not usually doing much text entry, which is what I’d expect a thumb keyboard to work well with.
