I miss the old MechCommander

I loved MechAssualt 1, 2 was disappointing.

Really? I loved the BattleArmor/Elementals and other vehicles. I had a blast playing MA2 with my friends.

rebelsimile,

It’s been a very long time since I played it, but I felt like they overcomplicated it and didn’t really capture the arcade-y feel of the original.

I revisit MechWarrior every time I need to soft mod an Xbox.

I realize I said MechWARRIOR, not MechAssault, and now I must hang my nerd head in shame.

MechAssault was fun, wish the bots walked a bit faster

He’s been in charge for almost a decade and spent 60billion on cod. If he actually cared he would have done it. He has the ultimate power to green light it. He’s just chasing Armour core clout.

AC6 is doing a great job of filling my mech void currently! Highly recommend for fans of the previous games or genre as a whole

clay_pidgin, (edited )

Mechwarrior 6 is about to release the Clan Invasion … DLC? It might be a separate release technically. If you’re interested in a more simulator-like experience.

QuantumEyetanglement,

Thanks for the rec! Will look into it!

clay_pidgin,

You betcha. There’s also Mechwarrior:Online, which is a separate game. Multiplayer battles with rankings and unlocks and stuff. I haven’t tried it but the gameplay looks fun.

Busy playing Shadow tactics: blades of the shogun ATM. I have Aiko’s choice already, but haven’t opened it yet. The series comes highly recommended in reviews. Blades of the shogun hasn’t disappointed so far. Just a very slow moving game that you pick up to fill in a bit of time.

I used to love the NFS series. I really wish they would remove that 3rd party DRM. It is nothing but spyware IMO.

Really? The best Sony can do is 25% off on these bigger games? They’re just convincing me to wait for PC sales and not buy the PS5 games. I’m not paying nearly full price for games I’ve already beaten. In the future, I’ll just forgo them on PS5 and wait for the PC release…

I am spending more and more on older games these days. Every new full price game I have bought has disappointed me massively. I pumped hundreds of hours into Grim and the expansions for less than £20 in sales. Currently playing through shadow tactics: blades of the shogun. I bought that and the DLC Aiko’s choice for £8 earlier this week. There are a ton of these in the series, so i am set for a long time it seems.

My last full game price experience was Hogwart’s legacy. I have 108 minutes played. I reckon I have actually played 15 minutes in that. The rest was just video after video of story telling. I am normally someone who skips cutscenes, so this is a really bad match for me. Hogwarts has an 84% positive rating. A lot of people like this sort of stuff, just not me unfortunately.

karlhungus,

You aren’t alone. Forspoken was fun but they gated the gameplay behind a tonne of super slow paced unskippable town parts.

Maybe that’s what the like about dark souls series, right in the action rarely out of it.

Potatos_are_not_friends,

Welcome brother/sister to the world of being a patient gamer!

You avoid a lot of the hype. You get the game when it’s at the most patched up. And you save a lot of money too.

dpkonofa,

I’m already in that world. isthereanydeal.com is my best friend.
