Did you even read what you’re linking? Nothing on that page explains the contradictory grammar of the template.
Taken literally, it’s suggesting that nobody is saying nothing (therefore everyone is saying something). But it is trying to say that no one has said anything, meaning the next action is unprompted.
Imo just messing with 3d software is funner than most games these days, I started off learning gamedev and ended up learning blender/houdini/davinciresolve`, it feels less like a time waste too so I feel productive and get dopamine. Feel like a kid, imagination is your limit.
Also stuff like vrchat solo is pretty cool to see what ppl made and whats possible. Renewed my interest in games for a while, like the flight sim worlds.
every game is actually a puzzle gameok, not literally, all of them, but most game mechanics do ultimately breakdown to solving puzzles, with varying degrees of required reaction times. strategy = complex puzzle.
My version of this is when I assume the game has autosaved because a significant event or cut-scene has occurred, so I quit without manually saving. The warning says “Unsaved progress will be lost (game last saved 44 minutes ago)”, and I’ll only catch a glimpse of the “44 minutes ago” as my finger makes contact with the button to confirm exiting without saving 😬
I had to give up on that game. I know it had to have great story line, but damn got tired of being a shitty Amazon delivery man, who kept getting trapped in some black nightmare.
I actually loved being a shitty delivery man, it was really fun for me being a post-apocalyptic mailman and rebuilding the roads and stuff, but every time someone started talking I felt like the soul was being stepped out of my body.
and the graphics were cool too, but the story was so incredibly boring.
Just let me deliver stuff and help people and rebuild stuff, I don’t care if my guilt is an ocean of tar or whatever the fuck that was supposed to be.
yeah, I completed as many side quests and walked around exploring as much as I could until I was forced into a cutscene, and then I just sort of waited for whoever was talking to stop talking and dropping cryptic clues I couldn’t care less about.
I eventually started listening to podcasts and watching Youtube videos while they were talking because the uninteresting yet simple story was being stretched out and reexplained so pedantically and extensively.
Yeah the writing is atrocious. Kojima has sniffed his own farts too much. And I’m saying this as a big Metal Gear Solid fan. At least for MGSV he didn’t have enough money to have Keifer Sutherland rambling for hours on end. So the cutscenes were bearable. But DS takes it to the next level. It’s weird that all these Hollywood actors and even Guillermo del Toro were fine recording those lines and didn’t tell Kojima that it’s not how people in film talk.
Too late…friends. Nefarius’ corruption has taken hold. I cannot…control myself. I beg you Mortals, flee! Flee before I lose all sense of control. The Black Fire rages within my heart. I must release it! FLAME! DEATH! DESTRUCTION! COWER MORTALS BEFORE THE WRATH OF LORD…NO! I MUST FIGHT THIS! ALEXSTRASZA, HELP ME! I MUST FIGHT!"
I don’t even know how often I heard this stupid speech, I know it by heart almost two decades later. I think it took us 2 months of trying, 3-4 times a week for at least 6 hours a day. Good times.
I replayed KH recently, and beat the optional bosses, and finally figured out the gummi ship system-- they could make a standalone game out of that, it’s crazy how neat it is for something that’s so optional.
Ultrakill made me appreciate instant respawns and notice the downtime that certain games give you when travelling back to the boss arena like Dark Souls.
