Ja z kolei miałem dużo wkurzających treści na Reddicie przez co rzadko tam teraz wchodzę. Czara goryczy się przelała gdy zaczął mi się wyświetlać subreddit “Moving to North Korea” gdzie ludzie idealizowali Koreę Północną. Można niby wyciszyć dany subreddit, co nawet działa, ale dużo było też scamerskich reklam, które też mnie wkurzały.
Imo te subreddity to taki jeden wielki trolling. Coś jak na czanach - ludzie tak się wkręcają w daną fikcję, że są w stanie siebie samych przekonać do tego, że w nią wierzą. Był taki słynny subreddit o inbreedingu (kazirodztwie z… konsekwencjami), został zbanowany po tym jak zauważyli go jutuberzy, ale IMO nie bylo tam ani słowa prawdy.
Z czanów przyszła moda na tzw Augmented Reality Games, ale zanim one powstały, użytkownicy po prostu nakręcali się nawzajem na rozmaite gówna (np. wmawianie sobie że jesteś gejem i uwielbiasz ssać kutangi, albo że marzysz o byciu poniżonym w sposób który wydaje ci się obrzydliwy…), z czasem jednak zaczęło to obierać bardziej wyrafinowane formy i przeniosło się m.in. na reddit. IMO to jedna z nich.
No ale mogę się mylić, to Amerykanie, oni nie są normalni.
Don’t have it although I am loosely interested in it, but not enough to spend the nearly $100 (after tax) asking price. Maybe when it’s $10 on sale or something.
I played it when it was new and I'm afraid some people just don't get the magic of the gameplay. I'm one of those people. The setting is gorgeous but the action side of things bored me. It felt like homework I had to do before the game would let me see the next bit of the setting.
Excellent compilation of reviews but it would be nice to list where the game can be bought from. Steam, GOG, … ? I saw it on steam but not sure about the others.
Been playing Sleeping Dogs for the first time after picking it up for cheap on a GOG sale. I never played it back in the day and never heard much about it, but man, even 13 years later this is a good looking game. I guess I’m giving it a leg up by using DLDSR and RTX HDR, but still. It looks very impressive for its age. I can’t believe this was a PS3 game! The streets are crowded and the city looks great. Though I will say, playing something like this hammers home even more what a marvellous piece of architecture and level design Night City is in Cyberpunk 2077. Hong Kong looks nice and all in Sleeping Dogs, but it doesn’t have near the same character, the same variety and the same distinct but different districts as NC does.
The game has been very enjoyable, though. To a certain extent you might call it slop. And yes, it might not be Disco Elysium or Bioshock or Alan Wake 2, but not every game needs to be. You can’t eat salad every day. Sometimes you need a pizza. And this is a pretty fucking good pizza. It’s got all the trappings of a GTA clone you might expect, with a chinese flavour that adds some kung-fu to the mix and a boilerplate undercover cop story to make the tension tick along and let it at least pretend it’s somewhat different. The pacing has been very snappy so far as well. Almost no downtime, as far as I can tell. After playing some lengthy CRPGs lately that really tested my patience it’s been the perfect antidote - ideal brain-off gameplay, whether racing cars or beating up thugs (or singing karaoke).
I’m only about halfway so far, but from what I’ve seen so far I thoroughly recommend it if you like these kinds of games, especially if you can pick it up at a big discount - it was 80% off recently and at that price it’s a no-brainer.
Sleeping Dogs is such an unrated game in my opinion. I very rarely complete games nowadays since they take soooooo much time with all the unnecessary bloat and terrible writing, but I did finish the main storyline for Sleeping Dogs and enjoyed thoroughly.
The gritty tone and grime and filth felt so visceral, the decisions carried so much weight. Compared to the utter slop that is modern AAA games that tries to make everyone feel included and everything just has to be rainbows and unicorns.
DEI, fucking important IRL. In games, I really don’t need HR to be in my sidecar writing me up everytime I choose renegade.
If only they were to remake Sleeping Dogs. I’ll play the hell out of that one.

Unfortunately, unless you were banned by some mistake by FromSoft, I think it is unlikely that they will unban your account. You can try to email their support staff, but they historically tend to be pretty rigid about these kind of things.
In the past people have been able to get back online on Steam by setting up family sharing accounts - however going through this route you won’t be able to use your preexisting characters and will need to start over again. I have no idea if this is still an option or not.
Do you have any idea about why the ban was applied to your account? Were you using any overhaul mods or other mods? For the future - a good amount of mods recommend that you put the game in offline mode to avoid getting flagged for banning when you log in to From’s servers, so always read the install instructions on any mods closely.
Gotcha, that’s a bummer. I think it’s unlikely that they would revert the ban. Does it straight up say you are banned or does it use the terminology “you have been penalized”?
At any rate - may be worth checking out the seamless multiplayer mod. I don’t have any personal experience with it but I do remember reading that it doesn’t technically use From’s servers. So if you use that offline it may not matter if you are banned by From - you could still be able to engage with multiplayer users of the mod. I can’t confirm this, but maybe someone else knows more.
