I don’t have a lot of experience with roguelike games. Before I even knew about the genre I played quite a bit of Spelunkey. As someone who loves Super Mario Bros I thought that game was great. I recently found Vagante and am having a lot of fun with it. It gives off Spelunkey vibes, but is more traditional fantasy.
Because it’s not a good way to get from 30fps to 60. It’s a way to go from 60 to 120 (and 240 on the new 50x0 series) where you won’t notice the extra latency.
Most 30fps games on consoles have a 60 fps setting anyway, that turns off the extra graphical wankery and tones the resolution down a touch.
Unlikely to be it since it’s nowhere near from the last 10 years, but CITY 2000 seems like it could be similar at least artistically?
I think the best I can recommend is looking through Steam, searching for “London” and the mystery genre. I didn’t quite catch anything there that fit at a glance, but maybe you will. Similarly could be done on GOG, since it sounds like it could potentially be an older game? Or itch, but maybe the best way to search for that would be by googling london missing friend mystery site:itch.io.
I’m assuming a modern setting, with no supernatural elements and the mystery genre, so that’s the best I could do. It’s going to be very hard to find something without some details being fixed. Point and click? Photos or isometric? Is the player character visible? Do they have any identifying details? Does the pub have a name? Anything like that could do a lot.
You say you watched someone play it on youtube then you might be able to search your youtube viewing history?
This week I finished the Endwalker MSQ in ffxiv, which I loved. I’m now taking a break before going into the post ew patch quests to complete most raids which I slipped and a few other quests, while leveling white mage.
Played a bit more of Guild Wars 2 with a friend, but continuing only confirmed our negative first impressions, so we dropped it a bit after the first set of story missions.
For non videogames: we also continued our dnd campaign and played call of cthulhu’s Lightless Beacon

I paused my playthrough of Final Fantasy when Black Ops 6 came out back in October. Next thing I know, it’s January and I’m totally lost when picking up my Final Fantasy save file again. The dancer didn’t share any clues whatsoever.
