I have been busy this week so I have played mostly Slay the Spire. Being able to get up and walk away at any time let’s me play in my limited down time at work, or while I am working on dinner.

I’ve also been dabbling in a mobile game called To Arms.

For me, I just finished pikmin 4 100%!!! I have now moved on to Jedi survivor, which I am having a lot of fun with.

I got it near launch, but it didn’t run super well. I am happy I waited as the game runs much smoother than it did when it came out

Bottles as flatpak is an amazing way to run windows dependent software isolated from your main system. Flatpak will automatically bundle Wine and 32 bit library runtimes and bottles packages in DXVK (no need to enable multilib). If you use ProtonUPQT you can even get the bleeding edge GE wine as a runner for your programs in bottles.

I pirate because Steam is a garbage program for playing games and Valve is an evil company. So I pay for games in Steam but will just pirate a Non DRM-Non steam affiliated copy of the game to backup on my own local storage.

There are rumors of the Switch getting a successor next year. My biggest wish is for it to be compatible with the current games, included digital purchases. Honestly, if I can import my digital library and saves I’m already sold on a switch successor

Is there one that is server Based where it is not possible to manipulate your save state?

Diablo 4. I’m still playing my first character, Necromancer. I put on some chill music and work on completing all the quests and dungeons. It’s really relaxing and thoughtless. I finally killed the random spawning Butcher and was so excited I text my wife about it. Lol

GTA Online. Me and my kids have a Motorcycle Club and we cruise around and shoot people together and it brings me joy!

They will once they receive a DMCA takedown. Don’t become part of the problem.

This shit is why copyright companies are trying to ruin the Internet Archive. Just upload torrents or use mega.

Silent Hunter 5 with The Wolves of Steel mod. Those U-boat sailers were crazy. 50 lived in a space the size of an apartment for months. And the aces sailed right into the middle of the convoy to attack at night! They were also extremely outgunned by the British alone, it’s amazing how effective submarines are. Also fuck Nazis but manually stalking and targetting ships is fun!

Stone story has been great fun.

Satisfactory.

I do software development for work, so the game resonates with me intensely. Doing math to optimize input/output and refactor systems to obtain best capacity compared to the available technology. It’s great.

And yes, I have played through Factorio too.

HowlsSophie,

This one is on my list too! How does it compare to Factorio?

dQw4w9WgXcQ,

Satisfactory feels a lot more like other open world games. Not that it’s actually comparable to skyrim, but it is kinda shifted in that direction. There is value to go exploring and find different things or useful areas which can help you progress. Satisfactory has a huge map with a to of beautiful places to explore and build on, but the map is not random generated, so the replayability is a bit limited for the base game.

Satisfactory is a lot slower on progress and never reaches the “endgame” of Factorio, i.e. you won’t get a swarm of drones and slap down huge blueprints to harvest whole areas and the factory will probably not be as “refined” and structured. You get small blueprints so you can easily make parts of production lines.

An obvious point is also that Satisfactory is 3D. So you have a whole extra dimension to use for production lines, and the game features several components which allows you to make use of walls, ceilings and additional platform levels to refine your lines.

But even though the game has very different visuals and several different aspects, they hit that same sense of satisfaction with constructing systems with maximum output and see things work. I highly recommend trying it, although you might want to consider waiting for the full release (which is TBA, but speculated to be “soon”).

tenacious_mucus, do gaming w Does anyone else use mouse acceleration? I love it.

Despite just realizing this is a 2y old post that’s been necroed…like another commenter here, ive never liked how unpredictable mouse accel is, but my experiences are from long ago and originated from joysticks (controller and desktop “flight” types). Now i exclusively use mice with a variable DPS button at my thumb or what some call a “sniper” button. This way i have full control over WHEN, how long and how fast/slow. Ex: Logitech G502, Corsair M65

maccentric,

I have the g502 and the sniper button is just far enough out of my reach that I never use it, even though that’s the reason I bought the mouse in the first place.

tenacious_mucus,

The newer model, 502X, has a removable button that you can flip to either move it further or closer. I suppose not every mouse is gonna fit every hand size, tho. I have fairly “normal” sized male hands (glove size L), and the button sits directly under my thumb 🤷

As of yesterday, Baldur’s Gate 3. Really love shoving gobbos off of rooftops.

Before that, I think Against the Storm might be my pick. I’m usually not in to city builders past the 2-3 hour mark. Basically as soon as my city is functional I want to try again and make something pretty AND functional. Against the Storm basically has you do that beginning stretch over and over in a rogue-like format. It’s fucking awesome.

Edit: now that I see someone mention Deep Rock I gotta make that my pick. Rock and stone!

bblfrnz, do piracy w CS.RIN.RU's Gdrive links are down and no longer accessible. Is it just limited to that site or did google do something and screw GDrive for Piracy ?

Just look at the Rui’s signature on the forum since most of uploads were his:

Well, it had to happen eventually. All the google drive uploads from my account are now inaccessible, due to me refusing to pay 10x more for unlimited storage, and consequently Google forcing authorization request for each and everyone of the links. It was great while it lasted. I’ll leave the google drive bypass method here nonetheless, who knows, might be useful one day.
