It’s a bummer we can’t decline Steam Game updates anymore. That would help avoid these types of situations. Being forced to update a game before launching it was always going to lead to this type of bullshit. Same with all the GTA fuckery.
As a refugee from r/bloodborne I can’t be hurt again. I’ll install it day 1 if it releases but choose to be sad, salty and bathed in the old blood until that day.
That launch day was amazing. We had a 2 day LAN party that weekend and played TF2 almost exclusively. This was with a group that had formed around TFC. Then about 6 years after launch I introduced my son to it and he became hooked and we played for years together. There’s a certain magic to all versions of TF that just doesn’t exist in other games.
(it’s probably the well balanced gameplay and dedicated servers)
Not exactly a recommendation (most of what I would have said has been covered below) but, my partner and I use Co-Optimus to find new games to couch play together. Here’s a filtered list of PC split-screen and couch co-op games.
Very vivid childhood memories of this. You had 1 (total) save slot. So if you booted another game, the previous was deleted.
Played through Shadowrun 4 or 5 times in a row because of that. Sega really was ahead of the curve so many times. Sega Channel, Analog Sticks, KBM+Broadband on DC. (Genesis+CD+32x Stack, lol).
Wonder where they’d be hardware wise if they hadn’t crashed.
