On the bright side, Microsoft loses money trying to find new employees.

Microsoft announces a disc-less Xbox Series X console in white (www.theverge.com)

The new console option won’t include a disc drive, and will be entirely all-digital. Inside it’s identical to the Xbox Series X, with the same performance for existing Xbox games. This new white model will be available with 1TB of storage later this year, priced at $449.99....

That’s like saying Tetris had nothing in their game?

Demon’s Souls isn’t available on PC, but it is the original Soulslike game. Your best bet is to start with Dark Souls 1. They’re not necessarily easy, but it is the origin to an entire genre, so I feel like those may be a better intro to Soulslike. Also, Elden Ring is too demanding - unless you have a good rig, in that case, you can pick that first. For a gothic vibe, you can go with Bloodbourne.

From the posts out there, it looks like the game runs somewhere in the 30-40fps range, so the game is playable, but definitely not in the 60fps range. You may or may not like the frame-rate inconsistency, and it requires some sort of tweaking here and there.

Now that they have purchased the IP for Evil Within series and Hi-Fi Rush, they destroyed their competitor, and at the same time, no more series will be produced for fans of their games. Fuck capitalism.

I’m broke, so I’ll be playing nice open-source games for me. That, or pirate low-end console games for emulation.

Both of them are side-scrollers, so they probably have more in common with Silksong and Metroid. Think of a 2.5D non turn-based game, where you can move your characters all around, similar to Dark Souls or Witcher, but in pixel or 2D hand-drawn style, in an open-world setting. You should check out the Sword of Mana gameplay to see what I’m talking about - unfortunately, most Mana series games don’t resemble the original series in any way, and look more like DmC-meets-Zelda. especially the new Vision of Mana.

Really nice of you to share with other folks. Well, my situation kinda sucks, so all I can offer is congratulations to those who are able to enjoy their favourite game.
