I played the demo at Nintendo live. It’s pretty fun, still just a Mario platforming game. Nothing that groundbreaking like some reviews would have you believe.
Please explain the larger issues with the game. I have like 50 hours into it and the only things I’ve noticed were 1 glitched quest (Madam Devine won’t progress, which was fixed with 1 command) and some companion bonuses not applying. Also my chameleon-wearing companion’s head would remain invisible sometimes! But largely the game has played well. It’s great to bitch and moan but what actual bugs are you talking about, because personally I haven’t seen them!
I wanted to love this game and it did suck me in for 30 or so hours. But once I realized none of the factions mean anything and you can just join up with conflicting factions and kill whoever you want and then just pay off bounty I lost all fucks. What’s the point of being space pirate if I can just kill other space pirates with no penalty, and then go become a freestar ranger and a UC shill and still be a pirate somehow and nobody cares? It’s idiotic
When you say “Arcade driving” if you mean “zero friction simulation” then yes, sure. I went back to GTA4 recently because I loved the story and after 2k hours in GTAV, driving in 4 makes me want to kill myself
I am really enjoying it. The emergent story-lines that have cropped up just from me doing stuff is great. Having to really focus my skill points into perks forces me to stick with a play style and the gunplay and upgrades are fantastic. I love just fucking off to some random corner of the galaxy and finding a whole entire storyline to explore. Yes, the lack of low orbit flying is glaring since I played a lot of NMS but the story telling here is top tier and I just keep wanting to go back and play. Even now, I am just writing this one comment and then I am off to betray the Crimson Fleet >:)
