It was just a misfire overall. They couldn’t create the game they wanted on a dated engine. Loading screens inbetween every action ruined whatever immersion and exploration the game had, it felt shallow and I spend more time fast traveling from planet to planet than I am exploring an area.
The devs have honestly done a great job following up with updates and hotfixes. They say the next patch will address the enemy density which is one of the biggest issues. They’ll reduce enemies overall and will move the current enemy placement to NG+.
It’s pretty much par for the course for Paradox games to have a sequel that isn’t as fleshed out but has a bright future. I’d still wait a few years to pick it up with DLCs.
The first Evil Within gets a lot of hate but it’s honestly still a really solid survival horror, especially in the first half. Would recommend if anyone here is a Resident Evil fan.
Still playing a lot of Lies of P recently while trying to go for 100%. I underestimated how long this’ll take honestly, it seems like you need to do 3 separate playthroughs and be very careful about easily missable quests and records. Same shenanigans as dark souls really.
Still, it’s a really fun game. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys the souls games.
According to some steam reviews it’d automatically turn on ray tracing if you set some options from med to high, that’s why many people were confused why high-end performance is so bad (especially on AMD)
