fair. i just found it well written, funny and witty throughout, with memorable NPCs and a solid pace that I’d prefer to a Bethesda style game, which I was very tired of at that point.
i think most of the backlash against it came from the expectation that it would be literally fallout 3 style open world when it was much more guided and concise.
that being said i don’t think any game should be fucking 70 bucks let alone 80. so I’ll wait for reviews first and a discount second, and only buy it both are positive.
ridiculous. games don’t have to be padded to 4000 hours full of busywork and bullshit to be worth $60. OW1 was more worth $60 than any bethesda game since FO:Vegas, which was incidentally not made by bethesda.

i don’t think you’re remembering things well or maybe you played the popular ones. there was a bunch of doom clones that barely tried to be something different. lots of w3d clones too. also this game isn’t called Orion: Null sunrise so your “HELL” example is a bit unwarranted.
i don’t give a shit? doom had like a thousand clones; guess what, doom is still a household name and most of the clones are long forgotten. some good ones made their own name and following.
unless there’s outright stolen assets or code, or they’re using a deliberately confusing name, i don’t care. if it’s a slavish clone as you say, there’s nothing to worry about.
it would be one thing if horizon was this underdog game made by a couple people and has largely gone under the radar then yeah it would suck. but fuck me no one’s mistaking another game for horizon zero dawn.
the first Lara was unapologetically an asshole. she lived in a mansion that most world leaders can’t have in their dreams. it’s not like she was stealing out of necessity. she had a fucking butler and still went out to disturb world heritage sites and steal or destroy everything in them. just for fun.
on that part sorry i still don’t care. it’s a child’s game; there’s nothing to apologize for. but his comments on stop killing games and accused farms are bad.
7 year old me was playing with keyboard, and years later i graduated to keyboard and mouse. the only reason i touch a controller is to give it to my kid.
