Up to room 46, it felt like every failed run built up to your eventual success, like any good roguelite. You failed, but at least gained a bit of knowledge, a permanent upgrade or improvement to the state.
Then you get to a point where each run is less and less rewarding and eventually give up. There’s nothing left to learn or upgrade, it’s now a fight with the RNG.
Would be cool if it was possible to at least resell delisted games. This way it would be possible to legally purchase a copy, just like we can do for physical media.
I might pick it up in the near future. I don’t have much nostalgia for the NES Dragon Quest games, but this one looks amazing.
If they remake DQV and VI in this style I will buy it in a heartbeat! And yes, I know V had two remakes already, but none of them are available on a modern platform.
Yeah, I think it was in Assassin’s Creed 2. At the time, people were unable to play the single player game they bought at launch because Ubisoft shitty authentication service couldn’t handle the load.
The best thing about this gen so far is the rise of handheld PCs, like the Steam Deck and ROG Ally. I mostly play on the Deck nowadays, while the PS5 gathers dust.
