Have they changed up the flight physics in that game at all since like 3-4 years ago? Combat always felt like it was on rails compared to like Elite or x4. I like that there was a lot of other stuff you can do but that really took me out of it.
I’m even less interested in dealing with “interesting” relationship stuff in a video game. Had more than enough of that in real life. I want escapism, not reminders of trauma.
Most games don’t bring the characters sexuality into it at all so I wouldn’t consider 99.99% to be particularly accurate. That said I’d prefer if they left romance out of it all together. I’m equally annoyed by having to deal with it in a game regardless of which end of the spectrum it is. Just let me fight/build/solve puzzles/whatever. If I wanted to date someone I’d be doing it in real life.
He’s right. Movements need to focus on their thing. Workers rights already has a movement and it isn’t specific to game development. The two should both fight for their interests but trying to combine things that have nothing to do with each other just muddies the waters. How do you write a piece of legislation that covers both how video game rights are handled and also mandates worker rights? It doesn’t make sense.
I loved that game and RDR. I 99% completed it. The only thing I have left is the gambling challenges which are ridiculous. I should have did them before I finished everything else.
That’s the thing, who defines what artistic value is? I’ve seen some pretty creative pornography over the years. Is that artistic value? I’ve seen very creative depictions of violence and uses of profanity too. What about on the other end of the spectrum, Is Tetris have artistic value?
The devs rushing the game out half added results in them getting $225M. So they have incentive to be shitty too. I don’t know enough about any of them to say which is more likely but that logic goes both ways.
Yea, I had a throwaway account already to use for the login so I didn’t bother trying it. They still managed to make it annoying even when I did it their way and agreed it is horseshit.
Agreed.
I DID forget about that. Thanks for reminding me I need to figure out how to opt out (assuming it’s even possible).
Yea just set up a windows 11 pc for the first time and the experience was basically:
It forces you into making a Microsoft account or log in with one, then it told me mine was locked even though I was able to log in fine elsewhere. I had to use the alternate log in method to get in (I know you can make a local account but I already had one set up for this).
Then it tries to force you to “back up from your old pc” which this was an entirely different system so I’m not even sure why I would want that.
Then it tries to convince you to send them a bunch of telemetry while reminding you that you’ll still get ads if you don’t, they just won’t be targeted towards you.
Then it tries to push microsoft office on you.
Then it needs to do updates which took like 45 minutes.
Then you’re finally at the desktop where you get probably half a dozen othe pop ups between windows and the vendor.
Then it’s “usable”
By comparison Bazzite took like 20 minutes to get to a usable desktop and isn’t nagging me about ads at all. I have a laundry list of things still to figure out but so far way less annoying.
Just bought a laptop and put bazzite on it to try it out and figure out if I can do all the things I want to do on it. If that all works out I’ll be switching my desktop over.
