I don’t think it’s fair to consider Starfield, since the game was in development before the acquisition completed. The only significant input I would consider is making it Xbox/PC exclusive.
Fair enough. I thought about considering Bethesda, but since the acquisition was not too long ago, I didn’t think MS would have had significant input in any of the recently-released games – aside from making Starfield and Hi-Fi Rush Xbox/PC exclusive.
Out of their last 5 new IP releases: Starfield, Redfall, Hi-Fi Rush, Ghostwire Tokyo and Deathloop, only Redfall was a dud, so things are a bit better there.
All I ask of Xbox is to make one positively reviewed game that isn’t by Obsidian. The last five games made by first party Xbox studios (remasters/re-releases excluded):
The PS3 had gyro with its Sixaxis controller in 2006. Not sure what took Xbox 17 years.
Edit: After reading certain comments, it seems that The Verge could have misunderstood the use of the accelerometer. It appears to be for the “lift to wake” function rather than gyro.
You will have to request Minecraft Support to delete that existing Java Edition profile from your Microsoft account. Once they do so, you can migrate your Java Edition profile to it. I’m assuming their support’s pretty hammered right now, so I’m not sure if they will get back to you in time.
The easiest thing to do would be to choose a different Microsoft account to complete the migration, despite the inconvenience it might cause later on.
Migrate it to your child’s/spouse’s Microsoft account if you have one. If you’re feeling extremely generous, migrate to a friend’s Microsoft account. You can then swap usernames between the accounts at a later date.
Pleasantly surprised by the list. Should appeal to a wide variety of gamers. I don’t mean offense to any devs, but MS was truly scraping the bottom of the barrel to find games for Games w/ Gold for the past few years.
Some odd choices, like having the sequels Dishonored 2, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Doom Eternal and Psychonauts 2 but not Dishonored 1, Ori and the Blind Forest, Doom (2016) and Psychonauts 1.
They haven’t raised the prices for Core thankfully unlike PlayStatiton, but I’m still probably not signing up for it. Money’s tight right now and the last thing I want is to pay for access to online gaming.
