It’s a great game, and very healthy when it comes to fomo (it’s non existent you can pick previous battle passes and make progress on them, there’s many systems for unlocking new stuff…). The only downside of starting “late” is that you have everything to unlock, which may feel overwhelming, while I only had to unlock new cosmetics and gear upgrades as they were introduced over time (been playing since early access).
Also the whole game is designed around coop, anything you do will help your teammates, people are very chill so didn’t be afraid to join random lobbies, but if you’d rather play alone you’ll have a dedicated flying robot to help you out!
This is me, Destiny 2 has about 1000 more from when it was on Battle.Net. I’m planning to completely stop playing DRG once i hit 100 hours as I’ve pretty much finished the game (almost max level on all classes and unlocked every cosmetics).
This issue would be solved / non existent if matchmaking was not the only option for playing online game, which wouldn’t be an issue if publishers stopped being so greedy and predatory when it comes to player retention, which wouldn’t be an issue if the economic system we live in didn’t promote this toxic behaviour.
So yeah, kernel based anticheats are mostly just a symptom of a larger problem, the rotten video games industry
I’m 10 years younger and I feel the same, granted, I still game a lot, but I find myself more excited about the ideas and potential of a game, than actually playing it.
I think it’s a normal thing, you gotta get tired of a hobby after so many years, and it’s a healthy thing to cycle it out and pick up something else, and maybe come back to it some time later
I use MiniReview (minireview.io) to have better sorting options for games on Google’s Play Store, you can specifically sort for screen orientation, monetisation (or lack of), genre, ads or not, etc
Oh that’s funny, it’s the second time I get ‘caught’ lol
It’s a french punctuation rule (I’m francophone), which differs from the usual english one where no space is needed before the exclamation mark. basically if any symbol takes the full line height, we add spaces before and after. It’s fun to figure out if someone is francophone or not by the way they type.
I’m late because I just started watching Shogun, but Shadow Tactics - Blades of the Shogun is really good in the real time tactics genre, it was the first title released by Mimi who went on to make the acclaimed Desperados 3 and Shadow Gambit - The Cursed Crew
2D game yeah ! It’s on PC (mac, linux too) ; Switch ; PS4 ; Xbox One ; and I believe they’re working on an Android port. If you decide to buy it on Steam it’s also “Steam Deck verified” and is rated Platinum (works natively “out of the box”) on ProtonDB ; seeing how other, more ressource-demanding games run on Switch emulators, I think Dead Cells won’t be an issue, it’s very well optimized in my experience !
