As a consumer, the worst days of Steam were in its early years. It took hours to download the HL2 day 1 patch. But those days are long behind us.

I was in a counter-strike clan for a long time. We were all varying levels of dork. Clan members doubled as mods for our server, and we ran a server with classic rules and kept it tight. Almost always had a full server (12 people) between ourselves and the randos that joined our community. Spent soooo many hours bullshitting about our stupid teenage lives while headshotting each other. We had ventrilo, a old sql forum, and steam.

Everyone is still on steam friends but don’t talk like we used to. None of us play counter-strike anymore after it moved to CS:GO, so we lost that common thread. I’m mainly focused on my WoW guild and community there now.

Meanwhile BG3 just has one district of Baldurs Gate available and it’s so detailed and jam packed with NPCs that it’s unstable for many people’s computers.

I had to move my co-op save to my wife’s PC to continue playing in Act 3. Three year old PC with a 3070. She would crash loading into the Lower City.

It’s a bug within BG3 while multi-player. This is the fix: host on the crashing side.

Idk, I’d really like to play this on my PS5 however the PS5 version of the game only runs at 1080p upscaled.

AFAIK it’s poopy pants lazy behavior on the dev part. I can play it on my PC but I just wanted to sit in my living room.

Bloodborne has sucked me back in. Super satisfying gameplay.

I also replayed Re7 and Re8, just fantastic together.

This would be dope for all the WoWheads being adopted by MS (I’m one). If I’m bored with everything I just revert to WoW. If my subscription included Gamepass, I may be more inclined to check out titles I wouldn’t otherwise play.

They just added driving combat, which was in the launch trailer.

That’s pretty dope. I hope at some point there’s ground vehicles to speed up ground exploration (since we can’t actually fly the ships…)

It’s the same trash engine they’ve used for 20 years. To be perfectly honest, they should put it in the ground and build a new one from scratch instead of pushing their Frankenstein engine along.

My main issues with Steam Link is that I have to adjust settings when I swap platforms. If I go from my 34inch screen to my Steamdeck, I gotta change everything manually to fit the Steamdeck’s diminished capability.
