entwine413,

I’m not sure they can in this instance. The reason they could sue the Switch emulator team was because they were using a proprietary encryption key.

I don’t think the NES had that, and as long as you own the game, emulation is legal.

Also, this might be considered transformative use since the devs have to create the 3D profile by hand.

entwine413,

That’s not the lawsuit that’s being discussed. It’s the Yuzu Switch emulator lawsuit.

Looking at KSP2, it doesn’t really matter what state it’s in for EA

SteamOS (updated page) (store.steampowered.com) angielski

SteamOS is Valve’s Linux-based operating system. It features a seamless user experience that’s optimized for gaming, while retaining access to the power and flexibility of a PC. SteamOS plays tens of thousands of games on Steam, and we are constantly testing the Steam catalog for SteamOS compatibility. It’s an open Linux...

entwine413,

That’s what happens when you don’t have to think one quarter at a time. You actually realize that investing in your IT infrastructure is way cheaper than shit breaking or a breach happening.

entwine413,

Because that would be good for the consumer. They make more money on digital only, you don’t actually own the product, and you can’t resell it.

It’s a corporation’s wet dream.

The best way to handle it would be to keep the core game files on a physical card that loads into RAM, and download the assets to the local drive.

entwine413,

I just wish the Deck was a bit lighter.

entwine413,

From the original decks, the top tier screen can be achieved with a matte screen protector

entwine413,

I have one, and plenty of controllers, but I’d trade a bit of battery life and horsepower for weight. I don’t play AAA games on mine, and I know I’m not alone, so they’d be smart to release a lite version.

And it’s not just the weight. My wife has small hands and can’t play it comfortably because it’s so large. I bought her a WIN400 and threw SteamOS on it and that works alright. Something that size would be amazing from Valve (but without the really fucking stupid control placement).

Small form factor handhelds with power under the hood are definitely a thing, but they’re like $1200. I bet Valve could drop the power by 40% and sell it at a reasonable price point.

entwine413,

The only time someone has said anything to me about my playing my Deck in public was a guy who had an Asus portable and wanted to chat about it.

Literally no one cares. Well, besides children who will think you’re awesome.
