Eh. You can ride a lot more machines this time and the biomes are much more diverse. Other than that, it kinda lost its mystique when the plot twist was revealed at the end of the first game, the second game feels like it could (should) have been the final chapter in the first game. Still, graphics and art style are amazing and honestly worth playing just for that alone.
Yeah I was let down by Abzu. It was beautiful but didn’t have substance. You speak very highly of The Pathless, I’m excited to try it out. Thanks for the rec!
I have a PS5 physical so I buy all my single player games second hand and then sell them for basically the same price. The only digital games I’ve bought have been Elden Ring, Helldivers, and Spiderman Miles Morales.
Anywhere on body: 110mm rocket pods*, railcannon strike, orbital laser, orbital precision strike*, 2 x EAT, Arc Thrower (20+ to body), flamethrower, Spear, might be others
Headshots: Arc Thrower seems to kill a charger in about 10-12 shots if you can land it on their face. The lightning is somewhat more accurate and reliable at medium ranges, so get some distance.
Front leg and then shoot exposed flesh: EAT, Recoilless Rifle, Railgun on Unsafe mode (4 shots to break),
When paused after a charge**: autocannon to backside of front leg, laser cannon to backside of front leg, impact grenade to backside of front leg, probably many others
*These stratagems seem to be sticky for some reason and I’ve had good success attaching them to the chargers as they pass or after they’ve stopped.
**Some people seem to think that this strategy takes advantage of a hitbox bug where the charger’s armor is temporarily reduced after their charge attack.
The Last of Us 1 has been the only game to ever make me emotional. It’s still the gold standard for what a video game is capable of in terms of narrative. The sequel was jarring, but not heart wrenching in the same way the first was.
Depends, what did you think about the base game? For myself, I wouldn’t play it even if it was free. I platinumed Elden Ring and by the end of it, I was so fatigued from the FromSoft formula that the next and last game I’ll play from them will be the Bloodborne remake.
I bought Helldivers 2 for less than the ER DLC. And I’m having way more fun.
Ah I get you. Just so you know, the battlepasses are more like level unlocks than typical battlepasses, but you probably know that. Also, old battlepasses that you didn’t finish or even start will stay in the game permanently, so don’t feel like there’s a rush to finish them.
unless progression allows you to unlock items that are real world currency based on which I could see why they’d want to stop people from accessing it without one of their two methods
This is the reason I believe. There’s a premium season pass that has some later game unlocks which they probably want to incentivize. That, and there’s a meta-game that depends on the community making concerted efforts to progress the story. I’m assuming that they don’t want a modder to unbalance that.
