That’s not a counter-example…Team Xecuter also made millions of dollars and Gary was running various sites that explicitly promoted and helped people with piracy (much more directly illegal than anything Yuzu was doing). Whether Gary has the money to pay his plea agreement in his federal criminal case (not a mutually agreed upon settlement in a civil case like Yuzu) is irrelevant to my point that the only people getting in big trouble are the ones making a ton of money off of it.
Also it was only “an easy couple million” from Yuzu because they chose to settle the case immediately rather than fighting it. They certainly had the money to fight it if they had $2.4 million to pay in a settlement they agreed to, so I assume they were more across the line into illegal territory than it seemed or they wouldn’t have folded so fast.
No they can’t get an easy couple million from any emulator lol, only from emulator developers making millions of dollars from their emulator…which is basically only Yuzu.
Man for me it was playing Halo CE on the original Xbox, you could see the individual blades of glass on the ground texture! I was absolutely blown away haha
It makes perfect sense as a product because running game backups off an SD card without any hardware modding only works on the oldest console version. If you have a Lite or OLED (or even just the patched original model) you need a mod chip which is not an easy install.

Yeah I’m counted in that number because I downloaded it from Gamepass to try it on release day, thought the graphics were terrible (New Atlantis literally looks like an Xbox 360 game lol and I played at native 4K max settings on a 4090 so it wasn’t my settings), the gunplay was kind of crap, and just overall wasn’t super into it. Stopped playing after about 3 hours and bought FF16 which I’ve been playing nonstop and am loving, but I don’t count in FF16’s launch numbers since I waited to buy it. If FF16 was on PS+ I would definitely have counted towards launch numbers for that one…
